I went with leatherZ. They make an absolutely fantastic boot for shifter and e brake. I had the M stitching to match the wheel stitching and did it in black alcantra to match the headliner and pillars in the car.

Went with performance knob that uses OEM lighting in the gears with the old school M logo in the lower corner on top of the shifter.

Will post a pic this weekend.

They are the best but pricy. Gotta pay to play right!

I have ha it in the car for 2 years and still looks brand new

I'm looking to swap the Knob and boots as my next mod as well. Anyone tried the 3D design knob from IND?

I thought the Performance knob from BMW didn't illuminate? Can someone that has it confirm?

thx!

^I think he means ZHP. Performance knob doesn't have M logo or illuminate.

Thanks Skins... that makes more sense. Any owners with the 3D knob out there? 3 bills plus for the knob seems expensive, but if it feels the business when rowing the gears, I could see investing in it.

+1 on the BMW Performance knob. Even after installing my Rogue SSK - the stock illuminated knob felt flat. Installation of the BMW perf. knob now gives every gear shift a solid and a better feel.

ZHP is a magnificent shift knob. The bmw performance knob doesn't look very ergonomic...but I haven't had the chance to try one yet.

I have the Rogue SSK and the ZCP knob and find that the knob doesn't stay on very well. It's only when I aggressively shift (launching and shifting from 1st to 2nd) it pops off. Do you find the performance knob to stay on the Rogue SSK very well?

It stays on well IMO. In this photo the Performance shift knob is sitting high and the boot looks like it was put on incorrectly. ??

It has not popped off (yet), even with aggressive driving/shifting. The fit was pretty snug when I installed it; had to put some weight on it to sit flush.

How many people have a regular ZHP knob that's installed and not lighted?

I'm guessing everyone just left the unplugged wiring in the console?

The OE knob is hollow and flimsy and promotes a lack of connect between the driver and the drivetrain.

Whenever e9xm3 owners drive my e90m3 ...the 1st thing they are amazed at is the shifting = ZHP Knob + UUC SSK + UUC Selector Rod.

E9xm3 OE shift knob + OE Shift Assembly is worse then the OE e46m3 setup.
TRUE DAT HOMIE.

I just installed my ZHP.
It does help with the shifting due to the weight. Helps smoothin up to the shifts!
Highly recommended.
It was a pain in the butt to remove the stock knob tho, mine was locked in super tight, almost knocked myself out when it came loose. Haha...

should fit fine and it's exactly the same re: feel as the other performance knob it's just aesthetically different. But it's alot more $$$

the knob itself fits all BMW, but the boot is just for the F30, that's right.

i think i will buy one and look if i can fit the boot on the M3 boot-surround.
