How do I know the car had the 1200 mile service done?
My CA told me that my 1200 mile break-in service was performed at the
VDC, since I had a bunch of things installed there. (The car had 968 miles back then) The iDrive car info seems to indicate that is the case: next oil change, 15K; next service, 15K... all systems ok.. but how do I know for sure? Are the readings in the car service enough since I dont have any papers for it? just wondering

You should be able to request a copy of the service records of your vehicle. In my case the warning came on at around 800 miles so if your service indicator came on I am not surprised to hear the just went ahead and did it at the VDC...

I was told to check the oil cap and make sure there is no funny colored oil condensation under the cap...there is a dye in the initial oil BMW sends the car out with...its either green or blue?!? I think.

Any dealer should be able to pull the service history. Mine was actually performed at 471 mi when it landed stateside after ED :/. I didn't even drive it that hard in Europe - but the oil change interval was reset and it shows up in the records. I may do one myself before the annual one.
