Anyone with dyno data on this or additional feedback? I'm looking to add some power for cheap in the near future. This + tune sounds good. I plan on running at least 2 resonators if I run this x pipe. The AA exhaust is loud even with stock mids.

Whatttttt???? Keep us posted please. I just read through this entire thread and Sean what happened to you man? What were your impressions/vids/dislikes/likes on the xpipe. Never got the feedback but looks like there is some competition coming

Excellent. If you are close to TS pricing with resonators I'm in. I think I'd need resonators while the car is at least somewhat street oriented.

Would anybody be interested in an affordable high quality xpipe? After refusing to pay $1500+ for an xpipe I finally found an exhaust manufaturer willing to make a quality piece for a decent price. Reminded me a lot of the Akra xpipe. Installed it last week, fitment was spot on, not a single issue, bolted right into the OEM headers, O2 sensors in the exact place as OEM, OEM brace bolted on perfectly, and matched the OEM exhaust 100%. I`m dynoing today. Will let you know the results shortly!

Looks good. Not a lot of rocket science here in straight pipes and resonators. The biggest debate is in the "x" section.

I prefer the gentle curve with a kiss in the middle to allow the two separate paths to balance pressure while losing a minimal amount of the total area of the two pipes. Others want a sharp angled "x." Others want to force one exhaust path through the other in the "x," effectively merging the two paths briefly into one in a space that is the area of just one pipe.

I have looked at a bunch of x pipes for a variety of cars from a variety of manufacturers, and the design of the "x" varies. I am not an engineer so I am not sure what is actually best for flow.

Price is always the determining factor. Decent resonators are $50-$75 each and a resonator-less x-pipe can be bought for about $500. Add the expense of 8 welds. Total cost $825-1000. The cheapest quad resonated x-pipe currently available is the Borla 60506 for $1261. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bor-60506

I found the Topspeed X-Pipe on their website for sale, only $449. I emailed them to see if it is in stock. It's quite a bargain even if you have to spend a few bucks to adjust the fitment or add some resonators. I had Topspeed Test Pipes on my 350Z and although the fit wasn't as perfect as OEM, they bolted up without modification, they did not leak, and they held up very well for 5 years/80k miles. (They only cost me $100 on ebay I should add!)

I'm debating between removing the cats from the stock xpipe or purchasing something like this, but in either case I'd like to have at least two resonators, probably four, to cut down on the rasp in conjunction with my oem modded rear section.

I will try it for a while. If the gas smell gets to me, I will add a pair of high flow cats. 100 CPI or 200 CPI or maybe even 300 CPI. They cost $80 to $125 each, so that will add $160 to $250, plus $75 for welding.

Right now, I am using a pair of Vibrant right angle 02 extenders with restrictor fittings with the rear 02s. These cost about $35 each. I have an Akra Delete-R, but want to see how long it takes for the CEL to come on with the Vibrant fittings before I install that. While running the resonatorless, catless x-pipe with no such fittings, it took somewhere around 80 miles to trigger the CEL. There are three restrictor fitting options and I am trying the middle one.

I had looked for a used x-pipe with resonators but none were available when I was looking. Then, after I bought this one, a good deal came along on one but I was already committed. For most people, buying a used x-pipe is the way to go. For those who want 4 resonators, there is only Borla and Dinan. Many people would be happy with just 2 resonators.

No dyno, but I will get one eventually. Also have a pulley and drop in filter. A tune is on the list, but I have to decide about catless or high flow cats first.
How does your setup sound now compared to before the resontator addition? Did these resonators get rid of all the rasp?

I think it sounds pretty good, but I would not say all rasp is gone. With no resonators, the exhaust was a mixture of absurdly loud and rasp. Now it is mostly just a little louder than stock. I am not sure any 8000 rpm motor will be all rumble and no rasp unless you run a full open exhaust.

This is interesting, i currently cannot find ANY X-Pipe suppliers in the UK for a reputable company. All i find is american sites charging stupid amounts for X-Pipes that i then have to try and get into the UK and probably then pay import tax on (and could get damaged/bent coming all that way)

After spending 3 years worth of my savings on my 2010 M3 and finding the stock exhaust way to quite for my liking (i'm 22 and have a MK2 Focus RS for DD with full Milltec race down pipe, cat-less and none resonated cat-back - i like to hear every pop and bang) i've spotted a little bargain on ebay. Its this exact 'cheap' x-pipe you have all been discussing.

I think its so cheap that i'll take the gamble...

I've got a two poster 4ton ramp and fully kitted out garage so i'll be able to take some much better images!

Worst comes to worst i can always go back to stock and add resonators like this chap on here has.

sorry for bad view posted with my iphone and came out crooked. top speed xpipe with remus race. with resonators planning on adding another set of them. very very loud with out resonators. one is with car a little cold anothe is nice and warmed up and other is driving hope it helps.
