Nor Cal: Sept 2 Sunday Livermore Drive

This thread is for the planning and scheduling of Labor Day Weekend Drive, Sunday Sept 2nd, 2012 for those of us that want to escape family and indulge in a little curvy action with a younger, hotter, road. This route has been speficially tailored for the adrenaline junkie. Lots of twists, hairpins and plenty of straights. The first half of the route is popular among enthusiasts of all types (bikes, cars, cyclists). But the curvy second half is almost always empty and simply mouthwatering awesomeness. The view is unparalleled in scope and the breadth of action is like Bruce Willis kicking down the front door, while chewing Bubbleyum and dual wielding wolverines.

All cars are welcome. Please respect the rules of the road. And share the road.

Trip Time: Route 1 (3 hrs) or Route 2 (4 hrs)
Gas Station: There will be gas at all 3 check points.
What to bring: Radio/walkie talkie(s), Some cash for check point 2 for snacks
Lunch: Pit Stop BBQ, 4084 East Ave Livermore, CA 94550

I think Sean said that they paved the front side of Mt H, so, we might be okay.

front side was nice until the climbing to the observatory part... smooth...

the observatory part is as bumpy and rough as ever

mines is mostly good except for squirrels and certain cattleguards. the second or third one before the peak coming from livermore to hamilton is pretty brutal

yep that third cattle guard kind of surprises you near the top. and it's usually followed by an o shit.
