TE37 without track action

I'm considering pulling the trigger on a set of wheels and one of the sets on the top of my list are 18" TE37/SL (do not like the 19"). From what I have noticed is that most people on here that have TE37 in 18" track the car or is going for the racecar look, which does look awesome. They are the perfect addition to an already lethal track weapon the M3 is. They are light, strong, and look great.
I have an E90 M on style 220 19'' and i'm 90% sure that It will never see the track, I like to use my M as a daily(even though I have a subie forester for daily duty) and I know how much abuse a car goes through at the track.
My question is will I really see the benefit of running 18" TE37 other then the aesthetics(a set of volks on wide tires looks amazing) gained from it and the prestige of the brand? I live in NY so running anything larger then 19" isn't an option due to the horrible roads I travel on.

A set of NEW volk TE37 would run me close to $5,000 all said and done.

Love my mag blue te37sl's, but as you mentioned they are my track setup. If you like the design and look of them you can't go wrong wit the quality and craftsmanship behind the brand, Also if you're not opposed to buying used, you can find the on the forum for around $3,200 with tires. Good luck with your decision.

There is nothing wrong with having more rubber on the road in daily driving which TE37s allow. Other than grip, I doubt you'll feel any difference in performance. I bought mine mostly for track, but I rock them on the street any day.

I daily drive my M3 with 18 inch original TE37s and I like the design. Although if Volk had the SE37, that would be my first choice. CE28s is another option. All 3 types are great wheels.

I wanted a certain look for the car for my tastes and went with it.

I think there are a couple owners on the forum selling them for great prices used/new. Nothing wrong with OEM wheels either if thats what you like as well. Silver/polish is so so for me.

OEM wheel don't look bad but it's so average. Going to be wheel shopping for a while. Don't wanna go through 4 sets of wheels in a matter less than 2 years like my last car.

Seem's like TE37 is the track wheel of choice for us M owners. 3series/1series guys seem to prefer APEX.

Used is probably the way i'll go unless i decide on a special color such as mag/red/bronze.

if youre going more for aesthetics, i say go for a different wheel. volk offers tons of really nice looking wheels that i think looks better than the TE37 or TE37SL...

i personally like the VR G2 for a non track car.

however, i do admit that i personally ran TE37SL rims on my car but thats because i go to the track quite often. here's a picture of my car. i am not saying that the TE37SL rims are NOT good looking... i am just saying that there are tons of wheels out there that look better to me. but wheels are a personal choice so this is a very subjective topic.

Bought mine for looks - Use the APEX on the track. Speak w/ GTM if your going to buy new. They had the best prices when I was in the market.

TE37SL's are awesome looking wheels, especially without the dumb stickers. That design is timeless, it's been at least what 10 years since the TE37 came out and they still look bitchin'.

I use to rock SL on my DD and loved everytime I looked at it. But personally 18 seems too small to me. 18s with beefy rubber for the track is fine but why not go up one size if you don't mind the ride.

I agree 100%. For some reason in pictures the 18 TE37 looks better on the M3, but in person I think the 19s look better. They are the perfect size for the big m3. Unless you run ridiculously beefy rubber the 18s just look a little small. Not bad--just small. This is just personal opinion. I am sure there are others that would say just the opposite. I have 19x9.5 +30 and 19x10.5 +25 and I could not be happier. They look great, are more agressive, and are still lighter than the factory wheels.

Also this is unrelated, but I have found that cars that are lowered look better in photos, but stock ride height looks better in person. Weird I know, but just my observation. I am really happy wth how my car looks at stock ride height in person, but when I look at pictures of my car it looks a bit monster truckish....
