I can sleep easier knowing that you would buy another car for daily driving. I mean, who cares?

Funny, how the debate turns to what makes a better "street car", like we're comparing a Lincoln to a Caterham. From the reviews, cept for the one, most applaud the M3's road manners, reinforcing the track it on Sunday and drive to work on Monday personality.

Are you kidding me? The 335i has a TT 6-cylinder engine, and this MONSTER is a NA V8 - if you look at the weight difference it's only 77 pounds. If you're solely looking at weight...then note that the E92 has 414hp vs a 300hp 335i, as well as 0-60 time comparisons of 4.2 to 4.8-9ish.

I hope that clarifies something, if not.....

We could debate anything...........perhaps an Escalade is a much better road car than the M? Certainly a bit heavier and not worth much on a track, but it can move a lot of stuff. Still, Epacy has a point. It was nice to hear from a car aficionado who isn't threatened that someone wouldn't want to drive what they drive.
BTW, anyone who drives an RS4 will always, every time win a discussion about who has had more time behind the wheel of their car. My M is probably still 8+ months away! I wish I could post to their forum the finer points of my driving experience!

Ya but it's an M it should be lighter. What this about lighter parts like CF roof and lighter engine blah blah and it's still heavier then the last gen which is cool it's still a cool car but that was the "BIG" deal everyone was crying about earlier when people were comparing the Tuned 335s to the M3 I guess that went through the window.Meh I'll stick with my 3 and get something else like an M5 err GT3 next year.

No one ever said the 335 was lighter than the new M3. WHere did you hear that? Maybe you mixed it up with the review that the new V8 engine, is lighter than the outgoing M3 inline 6. That's a fact. And in any case since the e30, M3's are not known to be light weights anyway, If you want light weight go for the CSL.

i believe thats kerb weight. with driver and 3/4 tank of fuel

This article said and BMW's Brochure and Website all back it up the 335 is lighter not a big deal but i'm just saying.

Why would you buy an M3 as a track car? It's completely unsuited to that.

M3/RS4 are cars to be driven daily but that you may occasionally take to the track and not get embarassed by a track prepped Mk2 Golf.

The difference between the two is whether the mere mention of RWD gives you the runs or not.
