Monterey Car Week 2012

Next week is arguably the World's Largest Car Week of the year.

Anyone from around here going?

If you have never gone and call yourself a "Car Guy" you owe it to yourself to go at least once in your life.
I try to go every year, a small group of enthusiast will caravan and take back roads all of the way up and down with a ton of spirited driving.

I'm watching Street Signs (CNBC) right now and they just had a segment that this car show will have the rarests/most expensive cars on earth. It must be a big deal to have coverage on Street Signs.

I've hit up Concorso Italiano a few times and Pebble Beach...I still wanna do the full weekend one of these years...I'm just happy that this events usually are on my birthday week

There is also a "rally" through the winding hills of Carmel Valley tomorrow. Several M cars, classics and exotics. Last year the highlights were a GT2, Lamborghini, GTR, X6M, ect.

I have to put my race wheels on for this kind of fun! And I am a Monterey local so have hookups for Laguna Seca tix. Usually I also have hotel hookups but they are all sold out now.

Are most of the events free? I was looking at their website and it looks like tickets are $200? How much would you have to spend if you wanted to go to most/all of the better events? Thanks

You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
