Brake dust prevention?
I have an e92 335i and I drive the car quite hard and use my brakes a lot at high speeds I know that brake dust is normal but I cannot get mine to just wash off usually I have to scrub the wheels everytime I wash my car and they are beginning to look stained.
I didn't know what suggestions you have to make cleaning them easier wheel acids etc...and or wheel wax to prevent the build up from sticking.

talk to martind from auto finesse. his imperial wheel cleaner works great. and after you wash hit them with tough coat, and mint wheel wax. the next time you was it will make it much easier to get ride of the break dust.

this is the general idea right here. if you have embedded brake dust hit the wheels with sonax wheel cleaner and after that you will want to put on a wheel sealant. from then on washing should be pretty easy as the brake dust should come off with water and regular car shampoo

1. Run Stoptech street performance pads, or other pads that dust less than OEM.
2. Clean the wheels at least once a week to prevent dust from adhering to the wheels.

I will definitely be changing pads soon I just don't want to sacrifice stopping power.

Get the Stoptech pads, they're a massive change in dusting amount over the OEMs, + stopping power isn't reduced from what I've felt.

Opti-Coat your rims.
Use Sonax Full Effect (without a brush to maintain the Opti-Coat.) You'll see a significant reduction in brake dust and won't have to compromise for less-performing pads!

Stopping power is actually better than OEM as well. Heat resistance is higher, and bite is more aggressive.

I use the Swissvax wheel wax and the brake dust comes off very easily!

Unnecessary. When you seal your wheels especially with something like opti coat you will not need any wheel cleaner but simply soap and water. You would just be wasting sonax and it's not a very cheap product

Buy black wheels, then don't wash them. Wait for it. Now you have a dark bronze set. Problems solved.

haha true...aside from that...oh well I guess I'll stop complaining about how I *have* to wash my M3 every week. Others aren't lucky enough.
