Congrats too on beating a GTR, some people don't realize how ridiculously fast chipped 335s are.
Procede+meth+intake+dps = 413/446 RWHP. Plus and LSD and tires for traction. That's all my mods. Certainly not a fast 335 by any means. I'm not even FBO.

Look I'm not delusional - I'm sure if the GT-R driver knew what he was doing and used launch control, I would have lost from a dead stop. But if it was stock and the GT-R driver just layed into the throttle like I did, it's expected. I don't have any idea what year GT-R it was but from what I remember 2009-2011's dyno in the 400 AWHP range and 2012's around 430 AWHP and they certainly weight a lot more than me.

The EVO driver had + 1 passenger. I was expecting to loose but you never know.

Speaking of which, reminds me of my race against one two months ago at the Shift-S3ctor Big Willow roll-on event, I ran an almighty 440 AWHP EVO on teh back straight 40 MPH to 130+ MPH and I put 2 cars on it with my barely-modified 335. About 100 witnesses and vids.
No way on a 440whp Evo. What kind of dyno number is this? Dynojet? If it is Dynojet, the numbers don't count. Dynojet is not load bearing so the numbers are always sky high. Either that number is overstated or someone can't drive in a straight line.

I'd walk JB4 335i all day in my Evo X with nothing except a custom dyno tune. Imagine if I actually had hard mods done.

Your car definately sounds pretty quick. I would like to run your 335 one of these days. I'm in the OC. No LC race from a dig. What do you say? PM me if interested.

Would love to! What is your AWHP? If you have any mods you are going to kill me. The 2012's are already faster than the previous models. But if we run, we need to do it now...my M3 arrives shortly and the 335 is in process of being put back to stock.

btw are you the Hammad who went to the 6-11-12 shift-s3ctor Big Willow event? If so we met there.

I didn't go to the Big Willow event. Maybe your thinking of a Persian guy named Hamid with a silver GTR? So lets setup a time to meet in Mexico. My car is stock 2012 except for a mid pipe. No idea on whp.

I really hope your car is not tuned by Vishnu... there is a reason he was banned from the Evo forums. He is well known for blowing up customer's cars and talking crap about other vendors.

Yup, two separate N54 335's both tuned by Vishnu for 3 years each. I will be holding my breath for the next 3 weeks that my current 335 doesn't "blow up" before I have to lease-return it.

Hey, your luck may be better than others. Who knows. I would not trust my money with Vishnu given his rep. But he is a VERY good at marketing himself unfortunately... I feel sorry for the next owner!

Actually there have been zero catastrophic failures due to tunes on the n54 or n55's. The DMEs are very sophisticated and intervene way before there would ever be a problem. There's even cases where guys have run meth and tune for it...with no failsafe...and when meth stops flowing, the DME adjusts! Try that on a EVO and you have a blown motor. Maybe Shiv and Terry are terrible tuners...I don't know. But maybe they don't need to be good since the DME is so good.

It's your car, you can do as you please. As for the DME intervening to prevent failure - if that is happening, it means the car is tuned way too aggressively and the car is saving itself. A good tuner should be able to safely tune for all circumstances without needing to rely on the factory safeguards. If what you are saying is true then all tuners should produce about the same results as everyone can just max out all the values for the given mods and let the car handle the rest.

I'm saying that if the motor is tuned for meth, and meth stops flowing and tune doesn't revert back contemporaneously to a non-meth tune, the DME will intervene to prevent a blown motor. I've heard that JB tunes to the brink of knock...there are plenty of threads on the N54 section about this. I don't really know because I'm not a tuner but the results are clear - no blown motors with thousands of tunes for many years.

The back and forth about N54 tunes is nice and all, but what does it have to do with G35/G37 drivers? lol.

That's the N54 is better for tuning than the VQ engines?

Too funny this topic. Just had a G37 get crazy with me the other day, trying to goad me into a race. I just ignored him cause what's the point? He already knew what the outcome was going to be anyhow lol.
