Calgary BMW / Mini Summer Mega Meet (August 4th, 2012)

This is going to be our first summer mega meet this year and hopefully it will be bigger than the spring meeting we had! We are going to see a variety of BMWs in this meeting (X1, X3, X5, X6, M3, M5, 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, etc.)

Initial Meeting Details:

Initial Meeting Location: The parking lot across BMW Gallery (650 Crowfoot Crescent NW, Calgary, Alberta, T3G 4S3)
Time: 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM

Lunch Details:

We are going to eat at Balkan: http://www.banffbalkan.ca/
It is long weekend on August 4th, so I am not sure if we can make a reservation for 20-30 people, but I will call and try to book a reservation. We might have to break into few smaller groups for lunch.

Time: If we leave on time, we should be there around 1:30 PM

The only thing i feel we should change is to eat in Calgary before we go for the drive. The parking in Banff is going to be crazy. Also people that dont want to come for the drive still can join us for lunch. What do u guys think?

i can drop down for a quick visit to the parking lot but can't go on the drive , heading out for vacation at 2pm.

well seems like theres not much interest for the drive so far so might not be too many ppl coming. if thats the case parking in banff might not be an issue.

that being said...to be safe we could eat in calgary and then drive.....its all the same to me

i think theres a joey's in that area

Yeah Joey's should work.

I might not be able to join for the drive as well. I will definitely attend the meeting though

Seems like it might be better to just cancel the drive and do the meet only

I have friends coming from out of town, that's why I can't join for the drive.

We should let people in the meeting decide I guess. There might be a lot of them that still want to go for the drive.

Ive put out a big word to E46 Fanatics. and some other local members on M3Fourms. Couple people that work near me have BMW's as well and should be going. Hopefully we can get a good turn out. Ill be doing the drive even if its just me going lol.

Well i found that the Meet and cruise was substatial. Was not a horrible turn out but wasnt a massive turn out either. Grizzly Paw in Canmore had excellent food. Good to see this time the pace was more consistent and we had a good group of people watching there spacing between the cars this time, and waiting up for the whole group to join up was cool to see as well. I must say the drive back on Highway 1A was Alot of fun. Light traffic and got to push the car hard on them bumpy twisty roads. Found the car understeering a little bit but nothing to big. All in all it was good time and thanxs for the trip and friendly converstations everyone.

How the hell did I miss this?! Gotta check this forum more often. Looks like the drive would've been fun. Want to see more pics. Maybe we can squeeze in 1 or 2 more meets this year.
