is the 1m front bumper an oem m3 bumper trimmed to 1m spec or vice versa?
also what about the ducting, are the oem m3 ducts trimmed or do we have a fit piece for the bumper kit? lastly can you buy the bumper without the lip & who is the "official" vendor for this?

Top and side portions is from the m3 to ensure the fitment onto the body. The 1m bumper bottom portion for the style. Mold the two together and tah dah! And as far as the ducting, im not sure

As far as I can tell. One of the ducts is just there cosmetically and doesn't run anywhere in the first place. The other duct is an air intake for the engine. I'm sure air is still flowing into it, probably just not as efficiently. I think most of the air flows in from the kidney grills area anyways though. I doubt there is that much performance lost.

Your M3 ducts will no longer fit. Trimming them would be a waste IMO. I am running the 1M ducts on mine (which do not fit that great btw).

Based on your comments, fittment of this bummer is not perfect...so does this means it's not worth it?

1st of all, the quality of the work to mate the two together was barely average. When the body shop prepped the bumper for paint, there was a long crack along the seam where they put the two together. The shop had to reinforce the bumper heavily to get the crack to stop. 2nd, neither of the main scoops fit whatsoever. There is also no hardware to make them work properly with the M3. In addition, you lose some of the support bracketry that the M3 bumper uses. In my case since I got the bumper used, there was no one I could really go to for "warranty" purposes. Since I did not buy the bumper from LTBMW directly, I would not expect them to help me in any way. Even if they were to fix the bumper, that would not have changed the fact that the scoops do not fit well and that the parts you have to eliminate make it somewhat less desirable. |

what do you guys expect? Although it is OEM which I like, it is essentially 2 bumpers plastic welded together. This will also not be 100%, and the amount of prep work to refinish and possibility of cracking later is not worht the fad (at least to me)
but it does look good!! |

If some vendor figured this out (working ducts, clean install) for a reasonable cost w/ a core deposit (you send in your stock OEM M3 bumper afterwards), then it would sell. It does really look good and what the M division might have done.
