Obviously the Mustang slowed to avoid hitting the big rig that was coming up quickly.

This was the video I was watching. If you look from 0:31 on, the M3 just zooms and leaves the stang behind.

I didn't realized that the stang slowed down since the big rig was coming in. Seems like it was trying to merge in the lane. Thanks for pointing that out.

I walked an intake/full exhaust 5.0 from a roll. I'm not stock... but you should have annihilated him.

Uhh... A GT-R costs nearly 3 times the cost of a 5.0 Mustang? I'd certainly hope it can beat the Mustang.

If performance was your main criteria of purchase for stock vs stock then maybe yes. However, you can modify the 335i to make great amounts of power and very fast on drag and track. Then again you can do that to the Mustang 5.0 also.

However, the 5.0 interior fit and finish and overall quality is not on par with BMW 3 series.

not to mention the driving feel, though i'd take a 5.0 over any non-M BMW

Yep, 5.0s are fast, there was one at the drag strip last night, it was an auto, it had intake, mufflers and a tune, the guy was doing constant 12.6 112mph! It's not that fast but on a day like yesterday where I was only trapping 109mph and my buddy with his c63 was trapping 110, I say it's pretty good! Can't wait for my VT1 to arrive!!

edit: did I mentionned that the car is not pretty at all, there must be like 3 inch between the tires and the fender!

The after 31 sec is where he slowed down cause there was a car in the front. It was very hard to tell how much faster the car became. i mean it feels faster than stock. could it be the spark plugs? i have stock ones and they r not due for a change.

mustang stays close up to 140 mph.

Was at willow springs, ran against two new 5.0 stangs. Was faster on the turns and straight aways. Im a beginner and they were drivers who were regulars there. Stangs had sticky tires and suspensions modified. m3 +ad08+kw v3.... signs on the track!

yeap yeap. You can get all the power at a very low cost. However, i still think the interior could use some upgrades. like i have said they have come a long way, but still some more ways to go before it's in the same league.

I can only imagine with the right mods the 5.0 would be insane!!

I have to say though it did sound pretty good.

Not to mention a Mustangs weak point is its aero, especially the older ones 05-09. Eliminate that at 130mph and well...

not sure on m5's gearing, but m3 redlines 2nd at 78-80mph...

It seems that i had a boost leak at the time of the race. Guy long sold the stang, after riding with me around the ring... it wasn't due to power... it was due to handling, interior, and small things. The stang is scary to drive around the track, the rear is veryyyy scary.

I believe that neighbor to the north is probably working in km/h. Either that, or he believes the best way to start a race is pinned to the rev limiter.

How do you like the 575 kit on track? Is it a handful out of corners? I'm sure you prefer the kit to stock overall, but for track application as well?
