No, as previously stated, these software upgrades come with the new hardware upgrades.

It's always been called Navigation Professional, what's described here is the "new" or "Next Generation" Navigation Professional.

nothing to be proud of.....
..sure, it's a technological feat, but if i wanted to go online or compute, i'd do it in the office or at a cafe, on my smart phone or iPad or laptop. I use my car to drive. This extra nonsense just adds more cost, weight, and creates more distractions from the original purpose of these vehicles. I know I'm sounding like "an old techno-hating old dude" but i just can't help feeling annoyed by these announcements.
....I'm not against navigation, but tell you the truth, this stuff (software and hardware) becomes obsolete so quickly that it would be better as a third party add-on feature rather than hard-coded by the manufacturer, imho at least.... Last edited by kavehm; 07-10-2012 at 04:24 PM. |

This pissed me off too that I got a 2011 e90 and 1 month later they released it with BMW Apps and better iPhone integration. They really need to make uniform changes, it really discourages you from ever wanting to buy a car... so 4 months later F30s get this tech... that's so silly. |

Looks like I'll be opting for nav for the first time, this all looks great. The fact that I can have Spotify, Pandora, etc. installed directly on my car and have it connect to a LTE network and store music on its own hard drive is great. I drive a lot every day and waste most of my phone's battery using it to play music so not only will this be a lot more convenient, I'll be able to bypass the low quality DAC chip in my iPor or iPhone and get even higher quality sound.
This one feature is enough to sell me, the other stuff is just icing on the cake and the new graphics are very nice. |

![]() Still, those things are a million times cooler than the gps thing, especially when aftermarket already caters way superior standalone units for thousands less -_- I guess its worse for my care factor as we don't get cool stuff like pandora in australia (SO MUCH WANT) and i'm in to the high-end custom car audio scene as is lol, so anything that hinders that i'd rather not have. |
