Need more downshifting! 0:50 sounds sick. Really not making my exhaust decision any easier though haha

Curious if the 1M with Akrapovic Muffler is what we can expect for the F80 M3 with an aftermarket exhaust....

Definitely not going to be as good as the S65B40. I'm never selling this car, haha

Check out this rig, it gives you another mounting point using the hot shoe on DSLRs. The only way I would consider mounting the MKIII.

You could have sent me that link before I bought the stickypod.

The Raspiness with the 1M is kind of a downer. But its inherent with most Turbo cars i have heard with a good exhaust.

On the other hand.. the Akra on the E90M is like god reached into the bowels of the earth and forged its creation him self.... Thats how beastly it sounds.... This is one of the main reasons my next car will be an E90M. its the last of its breed.

I should also mention that in most of the clips the 1M was running with open valves which basically bypasses the muffler. That's where most of the raspiness is coming from. Personally I think it sounds very mean.

The 1M looks meaner (IMO) and sounds over all, more exotic for a lack of better words, I-6's are a BMW signature sound much like P-cars flat six. Not knocking either car, loved my E90 M3 and love my current 1M. Awesome video work for sure!!!

Pretty sure it just happened for me :-)

Now I wish I would have bought the M5 instead of my 550i.... Next purchase will be an e60 m5, can you imagine what a V10 will sound like with that system... These sounds should replace music in Opera houses!!

Does that m3 have a stock front bumper? If not which bumper does it have?

i am with you there, the M3 sounds like a fat boxer, and 1M is like manny pacqia on roids, the 1M just sounds angry...

when it comes to V8s... with all due respect,no one can hold a candle to the vettes and new stangs.

So much hate for the 1M... IMO you can't really compare noises of a v8 and an i6. obviously a v8 will sound great compared to the i6. Like comparing the exhaust sound of a tesla and a lambo.

But this exhaust setup on the 1M sounds so exotic... makes me wanna switch out my remus.

Haha I'm in love with this video Really emphasize the sound with the akro exhaust set up! In most videos, you cant here how the Akropovic exhaust really sounds in most videos but this one, you actually can! I'm so glad I got the Akro set up from downpipes back. I would have done the Akro downpipes as well but I dont think they had them back then, so I just got the AR downpipes with the mid and rear section exhaust. 3"catless downpipes are 3" catless downpipes so I dont think it would make that big of a difference being AR or Akro. LOVE the video!!!

I couldn't figure out how : by mounting the camera on one car filming the other, and yet get such good quality sound from the car being filmed!

H4N on the car being filmed!! that explains it!

SO you guys had to do a lot of synchronization in post work!
to lay out the sound correctly with the film...

I missed this. Would explain why people don't like the sound. Was the M3 running with open valves? Doesn't sound like it. I think even the M3 wouldn't sound as good with the valves open as well.

No reason why the 1M should sound like a 'fart can' as some are saying, unless that is what you are going for. For comparison, here is mine with the Eisenmann Sport. Also plenty of 1M owners with the Akra system and is seems to sound better than what is represented here.

Awesome! Akra's build quality is second to none but they are really quiet for some strange reason.

M3's Akrapovic system doesn't have a valve option. For what it's worth I think the 1M's open valve sounds a lot better than when it is closed. It practically sounds stock when closed.
