I think it's a great wheel; however, I heard factory discontinued manufacturing it.

apex makes good wheels - not forged but cheap, lightweight thus good for track

And they're VIA/JWL certified.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

For the style of wheel you want , my top choice by far, would be the HRE P47SC. Not only is the quality superb, but so is the customer support. They are also a big enough company that if there is a problem, you won't be waiting months to get it taken care of.

The P47SC is a beautiful style.

Since we build all our forged wheels in-house at our TUV certified 60,000 sq ft facility in San Diego, we are current the fastest in the business to build custom forged wheels. I know a lot of the companies that outsource their wheel production are quoting anyway from 2-6 months, especially when it comes to 1pc wheels.

Here's some videos of how HRE Wheels are made

Wheels manufactured from Japan, definitely are top notch. It's great that the Japanese require JWL/VIA standards, would be nice if the US had some type of required standard. There are only a few US based wheel companies that have TUV manufacturers certifications.

I'd love to see the P47SC's on an M3!

I have Rays/Volk CE28n with 255/35R18 tires on my A4. The A4 has firm coilovers and I've gotten a few bent rims over the years (always straightened without a problem). But the wheels are very light and hold up great on the track. My front brake calipers have only about 1-2 mm of clearance, but there's never been any sign of touching (even after plenty of track time, powerslides, etc.).

For my M3, I bought one set of APEX for track, and plan to buy another set for the street. I feel they don't really look like a high-end wheel, especially on close inspection. But I'm only willing to spend so much on looks.
