This appears to be the same Z06 that lost to the M5?

It is not the same this one had some sort of tune, and was much faster.
Just compare the video, ESS vt 625 Vs M5 f10

Nice work Per, your car moves, a 6MT running with a stock C6 Z06, let alone a modded C6 Z06 is impressive. Not surprised and to be honest that Z06 driver was lacking a bit in the shift skills department. Here's what a modded bolt on C6 Z06 (stock cam), +55HP, with a skilled driver can do -

I know I miss mine. A lot. That said when I at least get into cars with the bigger numbers they flat feel fast to me. A few years ago I rolled with a friend who had an AMG Merc something or other, don't recall now. Turned out that thing was pretty darn fast and he could almost keep up, not that my "shifting like a granny" was helping my cause any. lol We did a swap for a little bit and if we hadn't just been dicing around I would have said it was just as fast. Maybe faster. I guess where I'm going is once your well and truly pinned into your seat and the tach is climbing, exhaust roaring, a little bit here and there doesn't really mean much in terms of how much fun your having as far as straight line performance. I've not been in a blown M3 but I'm guessing the guys driving them are having just as much fun as I was in my Z even if they might see it walk away when the hammer drops.

Z06's are no joke ! They move and move well , but I have to agree his shifting wasn't the sharpest not to say he would have beat you but he would have put a better fight.

ZR1's are no joke and get up and move. To me a much better car for the money.

Yeah, the Z06 has moved up the line quite a ways as far as price goes (when you check all the boxes any sane gearhead would check) since I bought in which was before it was out. With the step up to the ZR not so much its pretty telling that last I saw numbers there was a 200 day supply of Z06s on the ground but only 30 odd of ZR1s. I have no stat to point to but little doubt that the ZR heavily cannibalizes sales from the Z06.

Roman, regarding your comment about the Z06, I have a 2009 that's supercharged and puts ~700 whp to the ground. It's the quickest street legal car I've ever driven (I got a 184.3 mph run last March in the Texas Mile in a Shelby, but on race gas and with open exhaust).
The torque on the Z is ferocious and a delight, esp. with drag radials. I'm anxious to compare it to my M3 with your 625 kit on it. BTW, I'm going back to the Mile in October and will break 200 mph with a bit over 1,000 whp in the Shelby.

Love the z06 but I still think I like my m3 more... Cheers to the z06
