challenge sport x pipe and gintani

Coming closer to my decision and just want to make sure I have everything right after doing my research.
I've decided to go with the challenge sport x pipe since its HFC and I heard that HFC has a leaner gas smell and I can pass emissions. I've also heard that HFC provides great gains and the sport version is more tamed in sound. I already have a gintani sport axle back and I've read I can expect around a 25% increase in sound which I believe i can live with.
My questions are:
what are the main differences between test pipes and a HFC x pipe???
installing this x pipe will only void my x pipe warranty right? worst comes to worse, i could always just put the orignal x pipes before taking my car in if anything happens?
HFC will pass emissions, has less of a smell, and give great gains?
Will a ESS tune affect anything under warranty?
Drone will not increase but rather the tone/aggressiveness of my exhaust sound?

I know topics have been made before and I've done some homework. I just want to make sure i have everything straight.

I just installed the Challenge Sport pipe on Thursday last week (vids/wrote-up coming). I am extremely pleased with it. I have a Tubi Style Race exhaust and the pipe has definitely cut down the drone and allowed the exotic sounding tone of the Tubi to sharpen and rise in pitch. It sounds incredible now!!!

I also just got the CEL this morning, and will need a tune. In California, I do not believe emissions testing will be good with this set-up, but it is fairly simple to change back to stock because it is a straight bolt on pipe.

I'm ok with a CEL because I would get this with a tune. My issue is which sounds more tamed and has less smell/drone between the street and sport

Could anyone explain to me the difference between test pipes and the hfc x pipe in terms of:
Emissions
Sound
Drone
Power
Smell

You will still get plenty of smell with the high flows.

Turner test pipes essentially cut out the primary cats, so you'll pretty much get what you have now except the stock X-pipe has a lot of kinks in it. The secondary cats are also 200cpi.
Don't know what the rules are in NJ, but in Cali, you have to pass a visual inspection, along with the sniffer.

It won't pass in Cali since the stock cats are cut off.
The smell with my 100cpi cats is noticeable. I'm considering getting something with 200cpi cats, like the Challenge pipes.

Would the best challenge pipes be the sport or street version for my needs? Remember I'd be doing a tune also. I understand the street doesn't give a cel cause it doesn't take out the primary cats but then I won't have the same power gains?

The power gains are from deleting the primary cats. You have to compromise somewhere.

Also, you will have to cut the existing pipes for the street version, so swapping it out is not quite as simple I would think.

Ahh I didn't know that. So that just helps me justify the sport even more since it'll be easy to take off or sell in case of anything

That was a major factor in my decision as well.
