Trolls and fans

You know something?

It's not all that bad (well sometimes it is damn irritating) having Audi trolls and other M3 bashers post here......

Why? Because regardless whether you're a fan or not of the new M3.... the posts- both negative and postive are helping Bimmerpost to GROW.

Obviously this site is attracting attention- from both naysayers and fans alike and that's not neccessarily a bad thing.

I mean if we ONLY had positive posts how much fun would that be?
(Okay, it might be cool- but eventually we'd get bored)

My point is BMW AG listens to these posts and their feedback and if it makes the next model better due to some criticism then so be it.

So let's all gather around and have a drink!

I'm actually not sure at all that BMW looks at these forums. And even if they did, I have a very hard time believing that anything discussed here would influence their vehicle productions.

In the product design world, the members of this forum constitute a user group that is referred to as "lead users." Lead users are not necessarily representative of the current general user population, but they exhibit extremely interesting behaviors and communicate distinct needs that might be relevant to future broader market moves and demands. Companies pay top dollar to consulting firms to learn from such lead user groups. It would be surprising if BMW was not at least keeping an eye on this and similar forums.

Scott26 participates, reads and posts here. He is a marketing employee of BMW in Germany. However you are also exactly correct on the above (I'm a sales and marketing person...).

Somebody mentioned on the e90 side that BMW employs people to be on the internet and monitor certain trends, such as 335 fuel pumps. They actually mentioned a title, which I can't remember. Something like "forum analysts".
