I do, but BMW Apps only exploits iPhone Calendar events within BMW Apps. The features above leverage Bluetooth only and it doesn't matter whether your are plugged into the USB port or wireless it should work.

I guess I'll test it out on my z4 and if it works there I guess it's off the the dealer for the m3 on Monday.

It works on my z4 with 3.5.4 but it only shows msgs while the phone was connected to the car.

Weird, I get messages unconnected or connected via Bluetooth.

Beta 2 came out today and it now shows the Spenser's name instead of "unknown sender"

I confirmed this as well.

SMS messages are still flagged as Email and not text messages yet but least the Senders Name is not present.

so, once you have the .bin file for the update, which of those files do you drop on your USB drive? tried to search for it, but haven't had much luck.

The loading instructions are on that site documentation -just place the file at the root of the USB and let the iDrive read it after selecting "update".

Hmm.. I've put the .bin and uncompressed version of it in the root of the drive without any luck of it being recognized. I've read through the doc but don't see any reference to specific files beyond the .bin? Also tried putting the .xml files there as well? I know I must be missing something obvious– you've made it sound pretty easy.

(Drives were also reformatted to MS-DOS (FAT))

It is easy... plug USB stick in, go to the iDrive screen "Software Update" and select it. Then wait.

It worked right away in my 2012 months ago.

...except when I do it, it says "No USB device with software connected to the USB Audio interface."

Remove anything else from that USB stick, and leave the .bin file only. Retry several times giving about 30 seconds between retries.
