Thunderhill 06.15.2012

Tracked Thunderwill Raceway in NorCal this past Friday.

A bunch of us from SoCal went up this past weekend, and also tracked Infineon on Saturday 06.16.2012 (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708333) and Laguna Seca on Sunday 06.17.2012 (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708882).

Being there for the first time, first 2 sessions were kind of bewildering between - encountering severe drops on the tracks that, if you take it too fast, you'd be flying over the crest like WRC, and being pressured by drivers who've been there many many times (one of'em there at least 50 times). So, moved over to the point-by group where the pace was a bit slower, and between that and having run a few sessions, things got much better in the afternoon.

The speed at front straightaway is surprisingly high - around 135 mph at braking point (I'm doing nearly 145 mph at turn 1 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, a full NASCAR banked oval).

I saw your car at infineon over the weekend. I remember the orange wheels.

Ahh, I think I saw the gold brembos too..
I didn't have any numbers on my car but would have been recognizable because I was pimping mt AST contingency stickers

I didn't run too much because I'm still nursing an injury that was causing my lap times to be way off their mark. I was just happy to be out smelling race fuel and melted rubber for the first time in months.
