Need new brakes, replace or keep going?

So my system shows about 5k left on front and the car has about 50k miles on it. Do I need to replace the rotors(stock from new) and pads, or is replacing just the pads would suffice? What should be the thickness of the rotor? Are stoptech the most popular choice pads? I do track now and then (I'm pretty fast, 8min BTG on nring), but mostly car is for daily/spirited driving. What fluids should I go with?

trying to not spend a lot.

thanks for help... I'm sure search is usefull, but I'm really limitted on time nowadays, and there is tons of conflicting info.

Min thickness is etched on the rotor near the hub. I just measured mine with 55k and it has a lot of life left by my car is strictly a daily driver. No track time on those rotors.

Minimum thickness for the front is 28.4mm, the rears are 22.4mm.

Yes. For those who are racing, we often can go through 3 sets of pads before it is time to replace the rotor.

Just check the minimum thickness, look for any cracks around the holes, and just replace the pads if okay.

Cracks usually are connected to racers getting the rotors very hot......

And if your really want to push it when your rotors start to get to the min. Thickness switch to a semi-met pad it will give you a little more life on the rotor the a ceramic pad would.

whew, I'm actually right on that, like closer to 29... wow, I'm lucky.

So just need to replace the pads then huh... what pads would you all recommend? Stop tech?

Stock textars are enough for the street. I track mine regularly with pfc-01 but stocks on the street. Pretty good initial bite which is something good to have on the street
