Need new brakes, replace or keep going?
So my system shows about 5k left on front and the car has about 50k miles on it. Do I need to replace the rotors(stock from new) and pads, or is replacing just the pads would suffice? What should be the thickness of the rotor? Are stoptech the most popular choice pads? I do track now and then (I'm pretty fast, 8min BTG on nring), but mostly car is for daily/spirited driving. What fluids should I go with?
trying to not spend a lot. thanks for help... I'm sure search is usefull, but I'm really limitted on time nowadays, and there is tons of conflicting info. |

Yes. For those who are racing, we often can go through 3 sets of pads before it is time to replace the rotor.
Just check the minimum thickness, look for any cracks around the holes, and just replace the pads if okay. Cracks usually are connected to racers getting the rotors very hot......

Stock textars are enough for the street. I track mine regularly with pfc-01 but stocks on the street. Pretty good initial bite which is something good to have on the street
