New pads for the M3

I'm looking to replace my M3's pads in the near future. Three questions:

What are the OEM pads (or what are they similar to) that the dealership uses? Will the dealership use aftermarket pads for the replacement if I ask them to; the BMW dealership near me is very stingy at times. And finally, I plan on using Hawk Blues, a little track use, but mostly spirited driving. Any problems with those pads for the M?

Thanks all.

The dealer should install whatever pads you want as long as you pay for them (I'm assuming you are out of warranty.) There are a few good pads that will work for street and track, but each will have compromises. A lot of people recommend Stoptech Street pads for street with occasional track outings.

Take a look at Cool Carbons- excellent street performance and light track duty- very linear and predictable plus lower dust compared to OE

I went ahead with the Blue. I'm used to them on other vehicles. Thx for the input.

Hawk HP Plus are a nice all around pad, but noisy. Similar bite to Blues, but more streetable.
