Is this car worth buying
Hi Everyone. I have been lurking for a while... just looking for the right used M3. I wanted to wait for the new F80, but it is too far away and my E46 is really starting to feel old (although, it has been a perfect car).
I am looking for an 08/09 coupe. This one has been on the market for months and it is still sitting. What is a realistic price for this car? Has it been sitting because of the lack of the technology package? It meets pretty much every other criteria I have. Should I try to work a deal, or will I really miss the adjustable settings? http://nitra.bmwcpodealer.com/cpo/Ve...-CT/1118348293 I'll also post to the FS/WTB forum, but I am basically looking for a manual white/grey/black coupe with black interior. Thanks in advance for the opinions/advice! I hope to be an active member once I get the M3. |

Yes. It's worth it if you can afford it.
I always assumed it didn't sell as well as the e46 because of the state of the economy and rising gas prices, but I'm not sure. Love my car but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who can't afford it (not that I'm assuming you can/can't). Good luck with the car shopping! |

Thanks... luckily, affording it isn't an issue. It's more about appropriate value. I checked the car fax and it looks like it was a fleet vehicle. I just don't want to over-pay for a car with a shady background. It is CPO, so that is peace of mind. It's been for sale for 11 months, so I would think that it is over-priced.

2004 325Ci... 5 speed. It's got 141k miles, so it is getting up there. That said, I've never had a problem and it's going to be hard to let it go. It's been a great car. Only regret was not getting the ZHP.

Good question... the plan was always to buy a new F80, but I just can't wait. It doesn't seem to make sense to buy a new M3 and then trade it in just two years later.
I tend to keep cars for a while, so I don't mind spending $65k or $70k on a car I will keep for 5+ years. It seems excessive to do that for a car that I will only keep for a few years. Maybe I'm wrong... maybe the depreciation hit on a new vs used is pretty similar. I'll have to do some math and see how it works out. |

I guess I'm financially irresponsible, but I'm willing to take a hit for the chance to own a new car rather than used.
Maybe I'm paranoid but I only consider used cars when I personally know the former owner. You just never know... |

Yah... I'm to analytical. I "could" go pay cash for a new M3, but logic (and my wife) would get in my way. I need to find the right balance.
Thanks everyone for the input. I'll ping the dealership about the above M3. Any additional thoughts on the "fleet" status or a reasonable price for the car? |
