By keeping my rant more vague in regards to the specific vendors, I can let people know that a shiny wrapped piece of dog crap is still dog crap even if they don't know the exact names. At the end of the day, the only one who will lose here is me. Nothing would happen to the vendors in question and I would just be called a liar and flamed since the tendency here is to be like sheep when the vendor is the shepherd.

At any rate, just making the thread makes me feel a little better and hearing that others have had similar issues at least lets me know I'm not the only one.
I feel you on that. I know it can be tough here sometimes, but try and make it as pleasant for yourself as possible.

Hopefully you aren't wronged again and have found a few you can trust, as that is a very hard thing to do these days.

See you at the next meet man.

Yeah, there are only a couple who have really done me right here.

I was just wronged yesterday now that you ask.

Hope to see you at the OC meet sometime.

I'll stop posting here (great loss I know : P) if you are banned for stating factual information in a professional manner. No point in being part of a community that lacks integrity.

I think most people that get banned step over the line. I, for one, have some pretty strong opinions and have had zero issues with the authorities here. Granted, haven't had to blast any vendors first hand though...

All good. We all have our disagreements on here, I am the first to admit it. I may have even stepped over the line from time to time, who knows. I know that I don't need a crystal ball to tell that if I start spouting out names, I would just receive a fire storm of flames over it.

You don't want to do that... In the words of Richard Hammond: "Don't you know that criticism like that could hurt sales?!" ;-)

true fact #1: most automotive vendors/shops are shit.
true fact #2: most automotive enthusiast are brand whore biased idiots who think the way they mod their car is unique but its just trash.
true fact #3: your freedom of speech is non-existent on a private forum such as bimmerpost, mods and admins have the right to delete/alter post to their likings, usually favoring vendors to sell their junk.
true fact #4: realize these true and get over it.

Can you elaborate what is this particular situation with PG? I used to participate in many threads with him.

it's also really hard to fake good service on the internet. vendors who just get people to shill for them are really obvious, and you can't keep the internet down forever. when i shop for a vendor i try to find those where an overwhelming number of people express complete happiness with them, and if anyone says there's a problem, they report back very quickly saying that it was taken care of satisfactorily.

it sometimes means you won't get the best price, but i'm happier doing business with stand-up people than getting a few bucks off. this strategy has led me to the doors of companies like IND and Velos that prove the reputation they've earned on this forum with every interaction.

Yes and no. It really depends on the ratio of good to bad. I even had a vendor tell me Thursday that these things don't happen at their company yet I guess I was the unlucky soul that it happened to. So either I have the worst luck of any individual and these vendors are just that great or these things are happening but are being suppressed.

I'm curious of what you mean by a "bad experience" because it is different for everyone. I've dealt with 3 vendors (JLevi SW, iND, and SonicMS) and all have been great people and delivered what they promised. To some people a bad experience is getting a product 3 days later than they were supposed to, but I could care less as long as they respond and explain why it's taking longer. This thread is ridiculous... telling people you've had bad experiences, but not saying who or why. You have 6,000 posts, I'm sure you're that customer that people hate dealing with and can easily have a bad experience
