iDrive delayed start and random reboot issue
Anyone ever have this issue? iDrive will either not start for 5+ minutes (or until I hit random buttons on the steering wheel, radio, etc.) or it will often times randomly cut off and slowly reboot. Not sure what is going on with it but it is annoying...
Calling the dealer ASAP to get it in just didn't know if anyone else has had this happen. If so what was the solution? Software? Unit replacement? Etc.?

I've seen this happen before on an E60, it was a defective CCC unit. In your case, if it's not a wiring/power/ground problem, it's likely a defective unit.
The dealer should try an update, and if this fails, there is likely something else going on with the car.
