The condescending close to your post prompts me to point out your sophomoric misuse of the word "your." Actually I learned this in fifth grade, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. We all make spelling errors when typing responses. But a person of your high intellect, who is imparting such profound information that even ignoramuses like us won't understand, needs to learn how to correctly use the contraction "you're." Please make note of this next time you're (correct use of the contraction) vomiting your (correct use of the word) opinions.

I find it so amusing when liberals try to show they're better than others simply because they feel more intelligent and superior because they are better at writing. Well sorry, but not all of us wasted our time and money on useless liberal arts courses in college. While it annoys me when people don't use the correct form of words, I don't feel compelled to correct their grammar by using complex words and sentences just to seem smart.

Not sure I understand the connection between "liberal arts courses in college" and basic grammar, punctuation, and spelling rules learned in elementary school. Maybe because I'm a liberal I paid attention to such trite rules associated with accurate, clear and concise communication.

But you missed my point. I make mistakes everyday, more than I should. My point, as I stated in the post, in highlighting the poor grammar was to help the poster (is that a word?) realize how condescending and pompous he was in making his point. Many valid points have been made in this neverending thread, and most have been made respectfully. Name calling and condescension are for the play ground.

You're just shittin' me with your use of "because" twice in one sentence, right?
So this is a liberal thing, huh? Who are all the ones saying I'm uneducated? Nobody's trying to show they're better or superior; it's just hard to take your points seriously when you lack basic grammar.

I have an engineering degree; I've never taken a liberal arts course in my life. However, the premise that it's a waste of time to be able to communicate in english is laughable, considering who it's coming from.

No, but on a political topic in a BMW forum everyone is always trying to find the weakness of the poster who disagrees with them. I'm ok with that but going to the point where you're somehow trying to show your viewpoints are better simply because the other poster has poor grammar is comical. It might not directly be seen this way but it's pretty obvious what's going on. Haha, I mean for what other reason would you want to correct someone's grammar on a forum besides to belittle them?

A bit off topic, but why is Ron Paul still in the GOP primaries? In the West Virginia primary tonight Romney has 69%, Santorum 12%, Paul 11%, and Gingrich is at 7%. Paul is getting beat by a guy that dropped out of the race a week ago!

I wish he was VP at least. He used to be a doctor, has military experience and knows a thing or two about economics. What worries me the most with him is his stance or foreign policy. He's further to left than most democrats and Obama on those topics.

He's a whackadoodle. Has absolutely no chance of being VP.

It wasn't meant to imply that his comment was racist, it was just a sarcastic way of saying "thank you for explaining simple things for me because you think I'm an idiot". That's why I used a phrase that seems complimentary on the surface, but really isn't; just as his comment seemed helpful, but was really condescending.

By the way, the only people who have ever said that "if you disagree with Obama you're racist" are conservatives trying to speak for liberals. That's not to say that there's not a lot of racism out there, as well as claims of all sorts of reasons that we voted for the guy other than the real reason. But most liberals can distinguish racism from partisanship or ideology differences. The "take our country back" crap, and the "real America", and the claim that he's "leftist and radical" (he's moderate), that's racist.

Apparently Obama is the firs world leader who wants to meet with the socialist French president Hollande. And why wouldn't he? They're both socialists, both are academics who have never worked a real job in their life and both are going to screw up the countries they are running! While America has never had a socialist president (maybe FDR) before Obama, France has. The last one was a disgrace to France when they elected him 30 years ago and they're so stupid they think this one will be any better. Haha, they deserve to get what's coming their way for voting this guy in. Already the rich (those making €150,000 or more because that's so much money) are beginning to flee the stupid country and going to England across the river.

So meeting with a socialist leader is bad, but meeting with communist and terrorist leaders is ok? How retarded.

And please tell me, how is Obama a socialist, how is a lawyer not a real job, and how is our country being screwed up?

Wow. Huge chip on your shoulder much ?

Gotta say, that is quite literally the most disingenuous excuse I have heard in my entire life. You must really think everyone else on this forum is very naive to take your statement at face value.

IF you really wanted to sarcastically thank someone for explaining something to you, with the implication that you are thought to be an idiot, there are many other phrases that would have conveyed that idea without the associated baggage that race brings with it.
You could have said "How very helpful of you", or "How very supportive" or any other number of things.

To say "How very white" pretty blatantly suggests that only caucasians are capable of being condescending or insulting when purporting to assist someone they feel is intellectually beneath them. My experience on this planet so far proves to me that such an undesirable trait is hardly limited to people of any one race.

You think that calling Obama "leftist and radical" is a racist statement? Seriously? Have you ever seen any photos of Karl Marx?
I suppose if that is true, then white Parisians who make derogatory remarks about their new socialist leader (who happens to share the same skin color as them) are all racist as well then.

Wow.... I give up, man. You can't reason someone out of a position they didnt reason themselves into.

When people say "take our country back" and "leftist and radical", I believe they are paraphrasing ideas such as stop the out of control spending, and enough with the government giveaways. Hardly racist. Not everyone who isn't liberal is a redneck cracker.

Yes, Obama is a socialist. Just look at his tax stances. He wants to tax the tax paying classes even more and give their money to the lower class and non-working. His healthcare reform law does the same thing. It increases the insurance premiums of those with insurance to pay for the insurance of those who don't even want or need it. I'm not mad at him, I just don't believe socialism is the right thing for a capitalist country that has done more good for its inhabitants than any other country in the world can do for its people.

Dude, mellow the f out. My "very white of you" reply was for a comment directed at me, about not understanding finance. It had nothing to do with Obama or any racially sensitive topic. Get off your high horse.

The fact that Karl Marx is white has nothing to do with anything. Dennis Kucinich and Ed Shultz are radical liberals, they're white, and I'm OK with that. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are black, and I'm fine calling them radical liberals too. But as a president, Obama is extremely moderate; he's pro NRA, pro nuke, pro drilling, and has not pushed very hard on many of the liberal agendas. He also attends the prayer breakfast. So for someone to call him a radical leftist involves an emotion beyond policy.

Bill Clinton was a liberal president, yet I don't recall those phrases being used about his time in office. GW Bush created the out of control spending, yet those phrases were never used. He nearly doubled our debt, and those wars, tax cuts and recession are still racking up the debt. So why is it only Obama who we need to take our country back from?
