Same issue here when trying to install the M3 emblems to a set of gloss black gills. I'm going file down the emblems and attempt again tomorrow.

Where did the gills come from? Filing only takes a few minutes...

I also had the same issue. FYI, these were not purchased from IND (another forum vendor), and this was definitely not an install issue.

that doesnt matter, the side gills i purchased from IND are not OEM gills since its easier for them to paint than the OEM chrome gills, if you wanted OEM maybe you can request it (reference this post http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=11)

so technically we both got replica side gills from 2 different vendors.

just a tip, you might want to file a little bit of the lense that hits the emblem too. Or else You might end up taking off too much from the edge of the emblem.

Do not do this. If this is the same quality control I noticed (and mentioned above) then you really only need a very minor reduction. I'm talking basically just taking the outer curvature of the emblem off the lens side of it, making it flat/square. That's it. It's undetectable once installed. Filing your emblem is going to result in nightmares. Total amount to file is maybe 1mm. It's really minor after you've adjusted the screw and so forth. I only had one do this, by the way. The other was fine.

to each his own, both of my gills were short by 1mm as you can see from the pics i posted when i opened the thread. As long as you are careful, filing the ends of the emblem is not that noticeable either...

Yeah that's kind of what I was getting at, but I think the margin for error is a bit wider on the emblems. They file quite easily and uniformly and it's impossible to distinguish from ones that are not filed once they are installed.

Using a fingernail file on the edge of the sticker cures the fitment problem.
