Agreed... It's like a whole new car. Honestly I never see CPO repairs on m3's..... Pretty solid cars. The CPO warranty is not cheap

At the end of the day its still a Nissan, regardless of performance. The looks of the car are really horrible IMO. I would not spend over $50,000 new for one. They are just not worth it, again regardless.

I would honestly keep your M3 and look for something else. Porsche GT3? Lamborghini Gallardo? Ferrari F430? Audi R8? The next step (if moving up) for any M3 driver should be one of those cars. I would also include an Aston Martin Vanquish. I was just looking at one. Very nice car. I am a former Nissan owner and will never go back to a Nissan. They have really nothing to offer me anymore, thus jumping ship in my 20s from Nissan.

Good luck in your quest.

Work hard and have em both!

But anyways, judging by your OP, I think you have a lot of curiosity for the GTR and your gonna do it anyway.

And yes variety is always good for the mind....

If you are going to only have 1 car I would keep the M3. I sold the M3 and bought a used GTR, for a weekend and trackday car. As others have said the topic has been beaten to death but I would like to add that people seem to be very confused on maintenance costs for the GTR. Yes, you do have to do a transmission service every 18k which will be about a 1000 bucks, but aside from that the costs are going to be oil changes, tires and brake pads. No different from any other car. Remember that 3 years of included service with a BMW has been factored into the price of the car, so we are all paying for service one way or another.
Also, if OP drives the GTR, he is going to trade the BMW, the GTR is ridiculous.

If you are considering the GTR, why not also the Z06 Vette, ZL1 Camaro, or the Shelby GT500?

If your car was an 08 or an 09 I would say go ahead since youve had the car for while, but it's just a 2011. I almost traded mine in for a 2012 Jeep Cherokee SRT8, a very different car that the GTR but that was appealing. But I can't get rid of the M right now and really don't want to get rid of the service that comes with BMW. The car is still so awesome. Keep it for until the new M comes out and then decide if you want that or want something else. That's my plan.

Good luck!

I'm really in the same boat. I've had my car 3.5 years 34k miles. I have GTR on the brain. I'm also considering getting a 6MT 12 M3, but I'm wondering...at the end of the day its the same car. Will the 6 speed really change my interest in it that drastically?

The internal debate goes on.

Are you looking for people that drive the GTR that don't like it ONLY? Otherwise why would they give you reasons not to jump ship?

I would NEVER replace one car with the same model with different specs.

I would either wait for the brand new model, or switch to a totally different car.

For me, that's the wisest way to spend your money and get the maximum enjoyment.

There are circumstances where one would do that. When my 2 year lease on a '08 6 spd was up, it was returned and replaced with a new lease on a '11 DCT.
