Is this an issue with my HID kit or my headlight itself?

mod please delete. Issue has been resolved by BMW

Prob an issue with the Alpine. i've heard these lights can melt the rings. They are way overpowered and make the inside rings look like a blob. My guess is that is exactly what happened here.

It looks like the inside lights are brighter than the outside.

The insides are brighter. Comparable to all the other Alpine installs Ive seen pics of

There hasn't been one case where the lights have melted a single ring, please do not start rumors.

Also, if you've ever felt an angel eye LED bulb after it's been on, you would appreciate how hot they get as well.

I know the LED's can get hot, but I didn't think it was as hot as the HID's. I know I've seen some tests with AiB's here that showed them not quite as hot.

But I agree, never heard anything about them melting anything... I think the heat thing is mostly paranoia. Only issues I have ever heard of were with the camaross kits causing some discoloration in the plastic, but no melting. Nothing from Alpine either, no discoloration or melting.

Aaron, please either post the evidence of this or don't mention it at all. As Alex said, rumors are bad...
