Anyone use Kics R26 on the track before, especially with 75mm studs? I find the black non zinc coated nuts from Turner strip a bit to easily.

to correct myself; i ordered the Mutekis not the "motekis". I have read good reviews about the kics as well. I saw some good lug nuts from rays too. I bet they are quality, they are expensive as hell and meant for race applications, and i'd bet they have 1 or 2 types of locking ones somewhere.

If you use the Kics R26 with the locks, then the 75mm studs are too long and your key for the locks will not engage fully with the nuts. Basically, the studs will inhibit the lock key from engaging with the lug nuts as they are too shallow. the R40 is the only route to go here.

Hmm...I just ordered 75mm studs and the Kics R26 with the locks. What stud length do you need to go with for these lugs to work? I'm surprised no one mentions this when selling them.

I may be wrong but from what I gather is you should be fine w/ the 75 and a 90mm setup needs the open ended extended lugs to at least work w/ a lock setup (like mutekis)

If you purchased the R26 in the 16+4 lock format, the issue is really the key (socket adapter for the locks) is too shallow and will touch the top of the studs before, they can engage the nut all the way through.

75mm or 90mm; you will need open ended type, in most cases.
we sell studs that are street use only that are much shorter for close-end lug nuts, but these are not the same grade steel that is used on most of the competition style lug nuts.

Yea. And that seems to defeat the usefulness of them altogether.

right. but can't I use a 90mm stud with the extended open end nuts w/ matching locks (i.e mutekis). I get you need open end either way. the idea is that with a longer stud, I still wanna keep a lock.

very true. That is why it is tricky to find the right lug nuts that will work with extended studs.

you are absolutely right. Just make sure that the socket adapter/key for the locks will engage fully with the locks all the way until they secure the lug nuts on the wheels.
