I like the idea of the live smart cord, but that's the main reason I haven't jumped. Mine is hard-wired too, and I have no reason to go back to having a cord. I think Escort needs a solution for those hardwired -- maybe something in-line with the hardwire cable.

They told me they're planning on one, but did the temp cable first to reach the majority of owners.

Gettin mine Tuesday with mirror mod. It's in the top 3, I've always had K-40 in all my cars, but it's a bit outdated now so I'm switching up. Definitely puts a big dent in the wallet tho, oh well.... So did the car lol

I got mine from ABT Electronics for less than Escort list during one of their sales -- it definitely wasn't that cheap, but it was a good price. They are local for me, but have a substantial online presence, so you could always call and see what they can do for you. I was surprised when I bought it, because I didn't think it was discounted anywhere.

Got a escort 9500ix hardwired via ABT just last week. Couldn't be happier and it already paid for itself twice over. I love the add on super suction cup, very easy to take it down and put it back on.
