I had the same problem (plus the trim on the start button surround.) First dealer I went to said no. So I bought a cover from a member on the forum here. Then I read advice saying I should go to another dealer so I did. Second dealer said no problem and covered it under warranty.

If anybody wants the steering wheel cover I'll sell it for what I paid ($99 + shipping? I need to check.)

Let me guess...Bellevue was the first dealer and Seattle the second?

It is still textured...I'd say it's probably how it should have been.

If you tapped the old one with your fingernail you would get little sound...this one you get more tapping sound.

No rush as I'm not even thinking of replacing this anytime soon, but would someone please post a pic of the new covering? Just curious to see what it looks like.

Happening to mine too. Going to dealer next week for an oil change. Hopefully they will replace it under warranty.

Look at your driver's door where you pull it closed too....it likes to peel there as well.

Getting mine replaced under warranty this Thursday... Thank goodness for this thread, otherwise I would've just let it slide.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread...

So I have this happening on my 08' E93 with 7k miles on it. It is very minor on the left side of the steering wheel but I am out of warranty so I am pooched there.

Does anyone know if this can be glued down some how and alternatively what the replacement piece costs from the dealer?
