Road trip to Niagara Falls

My wife's family will be visiting Niagara falls this summer and we'll be driving up to meet them. I know how to work Google Maps but it only has options for driving, public transportation, and walking. I can also work the sat nav but it wants to give me fast and efficient routes. Neither have an option for "I drive an M3 and I want a scenic, twisty, and fun route."

Anyone driven in that direction from here and have suggestions?

I bought my 08 from buffalo new York
And I realized it's about 15min from the Niagara falls
So I figured what the heck, I'll drive up and see it

It's gorgeous
Here is the first pic of my 08 taken in October 29, 2008

That's awesome. I hope to get some good pics while we're there. Any tips on a route to take?

I drove to Niagra Falls from Harrisburg through Buffalo, then to the US side of Niagra falls. Any roads through northwest PA is fill with twist turns as you are driving along the hills and mountains and backroads of PA. Very long drive but it was very fun to drive through the mountains. From Harrisburg to Buffalo, its all woods.

if you have time and patience - go up through the centre of PA on route 219 - and take that all the way up basically till you pick up the interstate in buffalo. you can pick up 219 pretty much anywhere along the way - i personally picked it up near clearfield, pa.

the ride is great - up through the allegheny national forest. lots of little towns.

enjoy!

I've gone to Niagra Falls on 219. I picked it up in Johnstown, PA (where i went to college 15 years ago) I agree that it is a pretty good route.

if you have time, you can do Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen, Ithaca. Else, I there are lots of great roads on the Canadian side too.
