I think it's clear that someone who wants to go faster with his M3 is not someone who would be willing to lose his sharp handling in favor of a bit more power ! Think about it for a second and you'll understand the point of moding , you wont have to choose between power(c63) or handling(m3) , you can have both by moding a M3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know Alex, it's just that we Europeans hardly ever mod our cars, we still have my first new e28 from 1987 (my daughter drives her on a daily basis). So we purchase what we like and need and are happy with it. The mod seams to be more a North American desire and that is fine. I guess I should have not commented in the first place ... it's just funny to me to go thru all that expense for a few fractions of a second or even a second or two.

Nevertheless, there are the exceptions and I can understand if in the end all they care about is winning

Anyway I felt it necessary to bring along more beer and popcorn since this will go on for a bit I'm sure

With all this money spent, why not get a e90 then drop in a ls9 or ls7. I think its a ultimate sleeper. I dont think it would be much or $25k specially building a ls2 then dropping it in.

Seems to be a lot of confusion on these forums. An M3 is faster than you all give it credit for, especially a DCT and the c63 handles a lot better than most of you think. That said, a catless and tuned M3 should beat a stock C63 an hold it's own against a PP.

+1 a lot of people still think the c63 handle like other mercedes. Go test drive one before making conclusion. Some say C63 drives like a boat and i was like what? You think this is a s550 or something? Also theres no way stock vs stock or mod vs mod for the M3 to beat the c63 if both stay NA.

No matter how fast your M3 is, stock or modded, there will always be loads of cars that can smoke it in a straight-line drag race. A drag racer is not what the M division was trying to build in their M3, if it's such a concern for you, trade yours in and be happy with a c63.

Thank you Captain Obvious! Maybe I should join you and spend my whole Sunday questioning myself about what the OP wants .....

Short answer for the OP: Get into your machine shop and convert your 4 liter into a 6.2 liter.

Lol, you M3 drivers keep telling yourselves that......

Obviously OP has a grudge against the C63.. Hm i wonder why? Could it be that they are so close in performance that he just HAS to beat one?

Grow some balls and slap and S/C on there and not even worry about the 63, go after bigger fish.

Why must it be that I have a grudge on C63s?
Is it too much to ask for to have a 6MT sedan thats better than all cars in the same class in terms of handling/straightline speed?

And no the simple solution to this is not "get a C63 then duh". If you havent been reading, MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

And here we go again....
I raced a stock p31 with the above mods, the c didnt even pull an inch. The c63 owner is a forum member. My car's a dct

Full exhaust (catless) around 5k
Tune= 700-1000
Pulley= 350
MS intake= 300-400

You are so far from making sense , it's scary! Don't you understand that putting more power in a car makes it more fun to drive and that it's not because he wants his M3 to be as fast as a C63 that he's doing that just for the emotional satisfaction to beat C63 , maybe he's doing that to have more fun driving his car.
Me I'm about to spend loads of money(like you say)wich is a tune and some testpipes(total of 1500$) in my M3 to make it as fast as a C63 for the main reason that the more power you have , the more fun you have!! Beating other cars in drag races is just a bonus !!

Me too like you i purchase what I like and need and am happy with it , the difference between you and I is that when you look at a M3 , you see a 414hp car , me I see a car that can make 460hp with just a tune and test pipes !
