A shops response about KW.....

I Emailed a shop today about getting a KW sleeve over kit installed.. I removed their name from the email but wanted to get some others thoughts on this. KW is good enough to work with AMG but not this guy I guess.

"I can't send you quotes on the KW suspension as we won't install it. I
don't feel it is high enough quality to be associated with. I would be
happy to set you up with a Dinan or TC Kline Racing suspension, those I can
stand behind. I have seen too many owners unhappy with these lesser setups
long-term and end up changing them again at some point in the future."

what do you really say to that

I guess but but they were also asked about mounting tires to some new rims and getting them balanced. Guess I would understand if they said - Hey more than Happy to get your wheel setup done, but I can't do the suspension because I only do Dinan and TC...

Do you live in Northern NJ? If so then I probably know what shop your talking about....& if you are just call ACM b/c they'll install it for you....

I had 0 problems with my KW v2 on my supercharged 330, and have heard nothing but good things about them...

Must be higher margin for them on the other stuff

That's absolutely hilarious. And yeah, you're completely right, AMG Mercedes do in fact work with KW, for their suspensions, so this guys comment is completely incorrect in terms of quality, especially about a company who I believe is the best manufacturer of coilovers in the world. I mean hell, KW suspension is on the Viper ACR which just beat the Nurburgrings lap record, so there's got to be some quality in that right?

KW's not only working with production cars, but they're an OE supplier to Eibach, which ironically means that some of the springs they manufacture actually go into competitors coilover kits. Regardless, I think that statement is a bit ridiculous... Personally I wouldn't trust a guy who says that because clearly he doesn't sell KW, and possibly only sells TCK or Dinan items.

Thank you!!! I'm not sure his email is even worth a response.... I feel like I did my own research and i'm happy with the product I bought. might just leave it at that.

any shop is entitled to their opinion and can choose who they will provide vendor/sales services for. So like what you said, nothing you can do, if you really want KW, find another shop for the purchase and install.

I almost feel like this person has personal beef with KW in the past, or is fanatical TCK/Dinan vendor, sort of like asking KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut to carry Coke products. They can say:

"I can't sell you Coke products as we won't source it. I

happy to sll you Pepsi products, those I can stand behind. I have seen too many customers unhappy with these lesser beverages and end up buying Pepsi products at some point in the future."

My KW v3 was rusted in the first winter.
Springs were browned wherever they touched themselves.
The piston rod was pitted from rust in the area that never goes into the oil/gas seal.

They worked fine, but being 'stainless', I expected them to handle winter salt better than the usual stuff.
