e93 M3 Convertible Top Maintenance?

Car has been away for the winter, getting it back out in the next week or two...

Any maintenance that needs to be done to the hardtop convertible?

Lube anything?

Thx

JJ

I would apply some Gummi Pflege to all the rubber seals to keep them fresh and squeak free!

Can I ask you a bit off-topic question? During the winter I started hearing some rubbing noise coming from the top of the windshield, the place where hard top connects to it, right above the driver's seat. It got louder and more frequent when it was dry outside and temperature dropped below 30F. It comes and goes, so at the dealership they did not do anything about the noise because I could not reproduce it during my visits. Thought maybe I could use Gummi Pflege or something else to get rid of the sound by applying it to the connecting surfaces. Thanks!

My wife's 335i vert had the exact same issues this winter. The car sure didn't sound like any other BMW I've ever owned before. All Bimmers I've ever owned were tight and quiet even after 8 years of ownership. After I applied two applications of Gummi Pflege the car was like new again. Well worth the $12 it cost me.

Good luck!

It goes directly on all the rubber gaskets/seals.

This has been the only thread I've found in searching on convertible top maintenance. Other than taking care of the rubber seals as outlined here are there any parts that would require lithium grease or lubing to make sure the mechanicals are well maintained?

Perhaps latch points?

Obvious suggestion, but I would really ask your dealer what the required maintenance for a folding hardtop is. I'm sure they have some stuff in the "major service" list.

You cannot buy it at the dealer. Buy it on eBay.
