Just Moved to Fort Collins

Hi Guys,

I just moved to Fort Collins and am looking for a recommendation of an install shop that will do Tints and a few other small items. Not trying to pay top dollar, just a solid shop that will do it right. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PM Gladius. He just sold his M3, but he lives in Ft. Fun and should be able to help you out. Also - welcome to Colorado!

Welcome.. I in Fort Collins.. I don't know of any good shops in Colorado, so I can't be of any real help! haha. I am installing my M performance exhaust tomorrow (myself) because I can't trust a single shop around here to not try and rip me off or take my car out joy riding... Avoid Co's BMW like the plague.

I started working in Boulder, and will probably move down that way over the next year or so, but Fort Fun has been good to me so far! Be sure to join us on the spring drive. I've been on a few drives organized in and behind rocky mountain national park from these forums, and they were pretty cool. Great driving roads around here for sure. Just have to go west of the flat plains into the mtns

Welcome!

Details Plus Auto Salon in Boulder does excellent work. Wish I had used them before, going to use them for a car I just acquired. http://g.co/maps/pw67k

As for dealers, Gebhardt in Boulder is a good one for service. For non-warranty stuff, can't go wrong with Bimmer Haus, imho.

Robackja - Why do you say to a avoid Co's like the plague? Have you had a bad experience?

Vonwilbs - Welcome to FoCo! Enjoy the food. There are a ton of local places to eat that are really good. If you like pizza check out Beau Jo's on college and mountain. It's pizza with a Colorado twist.

Beau Jo's is awesome! Love that place.

Co's sales experience was a nightmare. The sales manager tried telling me I had to pay MSRP because the M3 was limited edition and there was no deals on them. My CA was barely responsive.

The last time I took my car in to switch my winter tires on, so just a mount and balance, I noted that the key fob read the wrong mileage. When I got my car back later that day (of course no loaner car either), it had 8 miles on it (for a mount and balance!), the seat and steering wheel where adjusted, and the radio switched from sat radio to someone browsing my mp3s and playing some rolling stones. To top it off, the summary of service sheet noted only 1 mile, and when I asked the SA Travis about it, he just blew me off and keep saying the key fobs are not accurate with comfort access, though, I showed him the picture I took of the odometer with my phone before I dropped it off.

Ya Co's BMW is not the best. But SCR Performance in Loveland is awesome! I have had my M3 serviced there for the past 4 years. Everyone there is knowledgeable and wont rip you off.

Agree 100%. The owner of SCR is a stand-up guy. Met him last year through NASA events and can say his team knows what they're doing.

That sucks! I will say I took my car there to get the oil changed and some other warranty stuff done and I didn't get a loner either (it was going to take 2-3 hrs). I ended up having a friend get me, but I didn't have any unnecessary mileage.

I'll have to check out SCR.

If you're talking to me, no. I don't like the look of black rims. Why do you ask?

From my friend Frank (he owns a Lotus, please don't hold it against him ). PM me if you're interested and I'll give his email.
Greetings all,

Some of you know that I'm on the board of The Phoenix Garage, a non-profit foundation in Fort Collins that mentors at risk youth in the Poudre Valley School District.

The Foundation is having a fundraiser at 6p on 2/26 at the AMC Cinema Saver 6 in Fort Collins by screening the standard by which all racing movies are judged...

Le Mans.

The Phoenex Garage and Steve McQueen will take you for a drive in the
country. The country is France. The year is 1970. The drive is at 200
MPH!

For the first time on the BIG screen in Colorado in over forty years and for the first time in HD on the BIG screnn in... maybe... ever?

Contact me if you're interested and I will provide full details.

Either way, please pass the word along to like minded gearheads that may be interested. Great movie. Great cause. What's not to like.

Best,
Frank--

Your rims fit your car perfectly. Post some pics of it here in this thread. I love the blacked out look with the classy rims.

Just got my summer tires on at SCR. Way better experience than Co's, and it is way obvious that these guys are hard core racing guys that really know their stuff, and are really respectful of ppl's expensive toys ;-)

Thanks for the recommendation.
