Amazing race! Final results are here.

And here's a partial list of the logistics that went into supporting Turner Motorsport's 2 cars, 8 drivers and a crew of 32 people over the 24-hour race:

Fuel stops needed every 50 minutes
20 Gallon fuel tank capacity
600 gallons for the weekend per car
20 sets of tires per car for the weekend
400 lug nuts per car
25 bottles of nitrogen for tires and air guns
2-3 sets of brake pads for the 24-hour race (1-2 more for practice and qualifying per car)
2 Water Bottles per driver per stint
Multiple windshield tear-offs per car
250 bottled waters
150 cans of soda
50 bottles of Gatorade
100 granola bars
100 cups of coffee
150 Red Bulls
60 scrambled eggs
125 ham sandwiches
60 candy bars
30 Advil packs
4 dozen donuts
2 RVs for Drivers to rest and eat
1 Private masseuse/chiropractor for drivers and crew

The Turner Motorsports #93 car took 16th out of 44 that competed in the GT class. A respectable finish. Their #94 car had engine problems, unfortunately, and only managed to complete 86 laps. I'm not sure if they ever got the car back on the track after they blew the engine or not, but I don't think so.

Also, since there was some discussion about it in another thread, I was curious about the sister BMW Performance 200 race that was also run at Daytona this past week and features the GS and ST classes:

Here Turner faired better. They got 6th place for car #97, and 7th place for car #96. I notice that M3s are very prevalent in the top standings, with Boss 302Rs also being very competitive (one finished in first place).

The other interesting thing is the 128i entries in the ST class. Turner doesn't campaign a car in that class, but it's cool to see that even the entry level BMW has some success in racing (3rd place finish).

Billy Johnson in the #93 car hit the tire wall 3 hrs into the race, which somehow caused engine damage and led to the car's retirement.
