Monster thumbtack in new tire: how to fix?

Just got a shipment of tires from Sonic MS via Tirerack USA. Found a little present in one of the tires.

It's almost 3/4" long (pretty hardcore thumbtack), and went straight into the tread block. No hissing or noticeable loss of pressure (yet, will recheck). Filling the tire seems excessive.. but, how would I proceed? Any advice is appreciated.

Thankfully, it's still winter here. So I have until spring to figure this one out.

Sorry to hear that happened to you Stefan. We will take care of this with the shipping company and make sure you are properly reimbursed.

Thanks Cal!

I just want to figure out if it's something I really need to pursue. But since the tire isn't losing any air, I wonder if it's a big deal at all. I do plan on tracking these tires.. so it could be a concern. If it were the sidewall, obviously that is an issue. But I think that since it's in the tread block, it might not be a big deal.

Hankook Canada suggests it might be unsafe.. trying to get a firm answer from them.

As it turns out, this "builder's tack" is enough to damage a tire beyond track usability. Just a heads up for everyone out there. 3/4" through the tread block is just barely long enough. Now to get a new tire...
