Vanguard vs. Active Autowerk Exhaust
Just wanted to know how both these exhausts will sound on the OEM xpipe and how it would pair up if i were to go with a challenge street xpipe. Out of these two exhausts, which one drones the least amount with a nice tone?

I can't comment on the vanguard, but I have the aa with the challenge street x-pipe, and the sound is great. There is a little bit of drone around 2500 rpm, but it is not such an issue bc I don't seem to be at that rpm level often.

Sounds great! Not too much louder than stock, definitely good for a DD. Drone is from 1500-2000 rpm that I've noticed. It's not even bad at all, so you don't really notice it. Doesn't bother me at all.

If you have a DCT car, both exhausts drone somewhat. (DCT likes to keep the RPMs in those levels when driving around slowly in auto mode)
The Vanguard got quite droney when used with any cat delete. I haven't run an AA myself but I've been in a car with the AA a few times. It sounds very nice, but it does make some boominess in the low rpms. |
