Finding out which PW was initially set by your dealer (in the very first Assist documentation that they fill out) helps. Sometimes using the account name in capital letters helps.

In my particular case, nothing works to log in. The initial PW, the changed PW, resetting the Assist UK PW at the ConnectedDrive site, using capital letters, using lower-case letters, nothing.

Mine didnt work until I got the bmw assist log in information MY salesrep setup for me first. I had since changed it and tried using my updated user name and password for that app and it didnt work. Once I used my the log in information my sales rep signed me up with, the app worked for me.

I got verification from my dealer this morning that I indeed have the correct info and there was no superceding usernames or passwords. So I guess I'm screwed.

Thought crossed my mind last night about this. Do you have to have a subscription to the extended services for this to work and not just the free Assist that is included for the first few years?

I was never able to get past the login screen either. I tried every combination of the password that I gave BMW as well as the temporary passwords that were mentioned in the original thread. I even called BMW Assist...

...nothing.

Yeah it either seems to work or the rest of us get the same results that you have gotten.

Fellow member showed me this app yesterday and I thought it was pretty cool but seems to be sketchy at best around the internet boards as to whether people can get it to work on their iDevices or not. I was able to download the app to both my iPhone as well as iTouch but I cannot get past the login screen. Any new concrete info out there that hasn't been posted yet? Have you had any new luck with it Technic?
I know this is a stupid question... but I am unable to even find the app in the store. Do you have a link to the app or the exact name for download? Thx.

You have to make sure you are in the UK store and you can see it there. You will have to follow a correct set of instructions to get a UK account though.

Just another data point here.

I created another account with Apple using the UK App Store, downloaded the My Remote app, entered my ID (email address) and password used when I first configured Assist (in-car, with the assisance of an operator), and voila...

...worked fine the first time.

For those having log in issues... Are you using the ID and PW your car sales rep used when he created your assist account? Thats what I had to use for my app to log in.

It changed once I spoke to BMW assist. And what it changed too, WILL NOT WORK. I have to use the ORIGINAL log in information my car sales rep setup for me.

You see, when I bought my car, my sales rep handed me a business card with my assist log in information HE created. Then we called assist and they changed my log in information to what I wanted. However, the BMW app will ONLY accept my ORIGINAL log in and password the sales resp created for me.

Hope that helps some of you!

Yeah this is not the case for me. The original nor the new will work. As stated in other threads regarding this, you just have to get lucky as to which server your info got put on as to whether this works or not.

Thumbs up

I got mine to work on my 08 M3

I used the email address that BMW Assist had for me on file, and the password is your security ID when you call into BMW Assist. I used these two things and the app works perfect on the Iphone. I was able to locate my car and lock and unlock the doors.

The number to call is 1-888-333-6118 option 3 then 3 again
Ask them for the on file Email and like the password dis your security ID.

Yeah as we have observed, it's not necessarily as simple as that.

I tried this last year but i could not pass the downloading part... making up a UK account doesnt help it sucks i tried making fake stuff but doesnt help... I even put my ex wife address (LONDON address) still no luck... it always ask me to put a UK credit card address... which i dont have and wont ask my ex wife for it...

for those who got the BMW assist working or downloaded in the US... PLease let me know how you did it. if its a fake UK account can you provide or pm me the SN and PW. i just need to DL the app. HELP?

Ive read the old thread and from what i gathered its a hit or miss... but most works but only unlock or locking the car... its one or the other, and most of the cars that worked was an 08-09.... the newer had some issue... not sure why but calling BMW assist sometimes works by resetting the password...

On the Apple site it tells you step by step on the downloading of the free apps with no credit card.

In a nutshell, you:

1. Logout of iTunes
2. Click change country at the bottom and change to UK
3. Go to the App Store and click the BMW Remote app to download
4. It is at this point where you will create the account and it will allow you to choose not to use a credit card.

So I do a weekly check to see if for some reason I can finally miraculously login and for the first time, I get a new error. Looks like I'm pretty much done for now with this.
