Loyalty Discount not 'lockable'?

I'm trying to order a 2012 M3 and my SA is telling me that the loyalty discount is not lockable and since it expires in a couple of days I can't use towards my order since I will take delivery of it in a couple of months from now. Has anyone else heard this?

I'd suggest you consult Ryan Amico @ Steve Thomas BMW I'm working with him currently and have found him to be straightforward and honest.

Wow. Haven't heard of that one. You should be able to lock that discount.

The only requirement to obtain a Loyalty discount from BMW FS is to be a returning BMW owner with a model year 2005 BMW or newer, purchasing or leasing a new BMW.

Your SA is confusing the Mission To Drive incentives with Loyalty discount, like they are part of each other. They are not, they are separate.

Loyalty stays, Mission To Drive incentives expire Monday. Now, if you order before Monday then you can lock the incentives for 60 days (East coast)/90 days (West coast).

silly CAs

its strange why a lot of people (especially on here) know more about the BMW product than they do, deals, incentives, and how to fix/service the cars, etc.

But a Salesman or tech at BMW I guess isn't anything special. You've got good ones, and bad ones.

So the loyalty discount never expires... or it is in fact something that is 'lockable'?

Thanks

Both mission to drive and loyalty offer are lockable provided that you take delivey of your car within your time limit for your region: 90 days for west and 60 for east.

Did one need to have that BMW financed through BMW FS? what if it was bought cash?
or if it was financed through a different institution?

As long as you owned one regardless of payment type. I simply gave Ryan Amico my VIN on my 650i and that's all it took.

My dealer is telling me mission to drive is only if you finance or lease. Here is the language copy pasted from BMW USA....

Receive up to $2,500 on select new model year 2012 vehicles that are leased or financed through BMW Financial Services NA, LLC. Delivery must take place between November 2, 2011, and January 3, 2012. Offer must be applied to the lease/finance, and paid directly to the BMW center to offset the customer's closing costs. Offer cannot be used for purchases made prior to the start of the program, nor can it be applied toward tax, title or destination charges through the authorized BMW centers for qualified clients. Consult your BMW Client Advisor for full program details. Offer subject to change. Offer expires January 3, 2012.... end copy paste

I found this out when I told them I was going to pay cash and they pulled it from my order. Interesting to note that they say with money down and the car ordered it is considered the same as delivery for the purposes of the incentive. I have a request in via email for them to send me the entire agreement so I can browse over it. I'll get back when I recieve it. Certainly nothing I can find in my paperwork says that they can reneg on the incentive if delivery is not taken by a certain date.

Mission to drive you must finance or lease. Just finance the smallest amount possible. and pay it off in in the minimum amount of months

Loyalty can be paid anyway you want.

I have noticed this with most dealers; I tend to know more about the car/deals than the CA/SA. I usually ask a few slightly challenging questions that I already know the answer to. If I get some bs answer that is not accurate than I know the CA/SA is not going to be honest with me. The CA/SAs that admit when they don't have an answer earn my respect quickly.

From multiple CAs. I am not sure where MN would fall under.

I do the same thing to. I can't stand being BS, or have them play shady salesman tricks on me. More often than not we know more about the BMW product than they do.

lol
