yes, overkill imo. vehicular diversity is good. particularly because of all the great new and used options in the price range of a new m3

I second that! I am thinking of getting an E46 M3 or a E39 M5 both in stick to have some fun. I will prob share that car with my brother. Loads of fun for not a lot of $$.

I would get something else. Variety is the spice of life. Since you are into tracking get something lighter and less luxury-bloated. Z3M, Z4M, P car, etc. I've had all these and any of them would compliment your E92 M3 well, as they do for me and my E46 M3.

If its something you want to do, and something you can afford, then go ahead and do it. We have an E90 335i ('07) and an E90 M3 ('11). We kept the 335i because it is in such phenomenal shape with very low mileage. We've owned it from new, and since it's paid for, and taken a big hit on depreciation why would we part with it? Besides, I do like the N54 for almost as many reasons as I love the S65

stripped is the way to go. I love my e90 ZCP with no other meaningful options (just metallic paint and carbon leather). I really don't miss any of the options I had in my loaded 335i. I missed them a little, at first, but now not at all.
