Site / 800# Accuracy??
So, I ordered an E92 about a month ago and have been patiently (as much as possible) tracking it since. This past Tuesday, I check online and call the 800# (automated and live chat) and both indicated that the car had not yet been scheduled for production.
I check again Thursday and online = not yet scheduled. Automated and live chat = car is at port awaiting transport to US. Is it normal for the system to be this inaccurate? There is no way the car was built and got to the port in less than a day. |

Its definitely never up to date although I never saw that much of a discrepancy. Usually it was just a day or so off.

The system still hasn't updated. I need to check with them again, but I am starting to think that I received a false update and the car still is not built. If the car hasn't been built, there's no way that I will be able to take delivery before the end of January. Even if production starts the first week of January, I doubt the car will make it to NJ before the end of January to receive the mission to drive credit.

The website is really hit or miss, but usually miss! For my M3 it was actually reasonably accurate but for my previous 550 the website still showed waiting at port on the day I took delivery.

if you have put down a deposit and placed an order for your car during the promotion period, i believe you are locked in for the credit as long as it is delivered within 90 days of the program expiration date. you might want to check with your CA to verify.

Mine was way off. I think it is normal but being BMW they should have the bugs worked out of the system.

I verified today that the information I received was not accurate. My car hasn't actually gone into (let alone through) production. I am meeting with my CA tomorrow to get a more detailed build date and determine whether or not I can find a car locally. I don't think my 'must have' options list is so specific that I won't be able to find one locally, but we shall see.

Confirmed that my new build week is PW2 from PM51. I did a quick search with my CA and there are a couple M3s with very similar specs that are local. I am going to try and swap for one of these and have the swapping dealer take my car when it arrives. To me it sounds reasonable for a dealer to be willing to swap. 1) it is winter here so M3 sales won't be very high for the next 5-6 weeks and 2) they would be getting back an equally spec'd M3 in early February.

Yes, originally it was PW51 (told by dealer). When I checked the status via the 800# last week, the automated statue update and a rep at BMWNA indicated that the car was built. When I checked back with my CA, I was told that the car was actually not built and production was delayed to PW2.
