Use the stock pads. You will know when it is time to start swapping pads.

My experience is based on using them on a 2011 e92 for a track day at Roebling Road Raceway. This track is not terribly hard on brakes, but I wasn't taking it easy on them either. I have 20+ track days at Roebling (70+ total) and was keeping up fine in the Solo/Instructor group without going easy on my braking points. No fade, no weird deposits on the rotors, and no excessive pad wear. |

The MOT info was hard to find, as Stoptech (or Centric who makes the pads for Stoptech) apparently doesn't widely publish the data, and just makes claims of a "high maximum operating temperature" This is a quote from another forum from a thread about the Stoptech Street Performance pads:
"So i spoke to stoptech about the pads, they are apparently good up to 1300F, which is higher than even some of the less aggressive race pads, and near the 1350 of the XP8, the 1400 of the Hawk HT-10." |

They were almost impossible to tell from stock pads on the street. No more dust, and never a hint of squealing. They were actually a little less grabby at low speeds, which made it easier to modulate the brakes in parking lots, my garage, etc. Great initial bite however, even on stone cold rotors/pads in the winter. With such a wide temp range, and perfect street manners (and cheap as crap at $200 for the full set!) I don't know why more folks aren't talking about them. On the e92 it isn't such a big deal, as the stock pads are so small you really need a full out race pad to even have a chance with the stock brakes on a track that is medium or hard on brakes if you are past the beginner stages of DE's, but with big brake kits or other cars with much bigger calipers, etc. I figure folks would be more excited about this pad. Guess it takes a long time to get a bite into the market. It amazes me people would still buy the Hawk HP+, which is significantly worse on both the street and the track.

On track they are absolutely superb and I used them on my previous car for over 20 track days with no fade whatsoever. They love to be worked hard and are at their best when hot. |

The stock m3 pads max operating temp is 1000F? Going by this figure i need something in the 1500 or above since my stocks were faded and burnt after my first track event.

Are the pads different for ZCP and non-ZCP cars? How are the stock pads like on the track? I'm just going to initially track the car once full stock and see how it feels.

Question for those who use PFC-01 pads. Is it true they dont need to be bedded? How do you like them on the track and how many track days can you expect out of them?

Plug aside, don't run street pads on track. Halfway pads suck too imo. Track pads are for the track and street pads are for the street. PFC 01 or 06 have always worked great for me on various cars.
