1. Delete the front cats
2. Evolve stg2 flash
3. MS Stg 2 intake kit
4. Sport or Race catback exhaust
4. Pulley kit

That will give you around 40-50 rwhp!

Why will a sport or race catback exhaust add performance? BMW claims only a more powerful sound from its catback exhaust. Akra, which sells beautifully engineered very expensive titanium exhausts claims only 3 rwhp from its catback exhaust. You won't feel it. You will hear it, though.

If you want performance, stick to the mods that add power.

i agree....

personally I would hate to get a tune, then get another engine mod ie and exhaust where you would have to potentially retune ecu.

if you could pre plan this...you could save a lot of time and money. (if i could do it all over I would do it this way)

- good used exhausts are on the market all day long
axle back, eom modded, aftermarket w full xpipe (catless or HFC)

-an intake would be great as well...a drop in filter is effective and inexpensive

-many people have different opinions about pulleys and that is completely up to you.

I would try to see what engine parts you really think you want and have them installed all together and tuned the same day. you'll save yourself some money on labor and tuning.

Hope this helps...good luck

Biggest bang for the buck would be to go with ESS on one of their supercharging kits... Once you do that I would suggest going with a good exhaust to match that up

Since you also said you want to add performance, I would suggest going with some handling items as well like KW Coilovers

How much money do you want to spend? You're not going to realize a noticeable increase in power without spending at least 5k. Akrapovic Evolution and a Tune will be a great start but will set you back about 6k give or take. However, if you are even considering a supercharger I'd suggest holding off on the tune because it will be a waste of money once you get the blower.

+1 on that, ESS SC kits will set you back quite a bit of cash, but you do get engine upgrades with that like new oil intercooler, pulley, race fuel injectors etc etc and this will come with a specific ESS SC tune also.

That and a full exhaust, (akrapovic evolution would be nice)

If you arent happy with the speed, then your mad, or if you are mad you can add a meth kit to it, plenty of into on that around here.

If you are willing to spend the $8k for a stage 1 supercharger, you do get pretty good horsepower per dollar. A lot better than you get with a rear exhaust. I like doing the horsepower per dollar calculations even if I don't always have the cash to do the forced induction mod.

ESS 535 equals 120 hp gain over stock 414 hp for $8000, or $67 per hp. These are crank hp figures.

Thats not true. You can get turner test pipes for $400, have them put on for another $100, add a tune for $1000, pulleys for $300, a filter for $100 and that will get you as much power as youre really going to get for bolt ons and all for ~$1500.

You're right.. I guess I'm an exhaust snob because I was only considering the evolution

Ive had the akra evo system and just about every other expensive exhaust on the market so I know my fair share of exhausts, but in theory you dont need to spend that money to get the power.
Of all the exhausts Ive had, the evo sounded the worst. Hollow, boring and lacked character and dimension in the sound...that said I still use an akra x pipe because its damn good, but the full evo system just didnt cut it. I guess Im a snob though as I expect much more at that price level than weight savings and a mediocre (at best) sound.

True - But as always you get what you pay for! If just making power is the concern then as you have demonstrated there are several options.

Akra where clearly going for that non raspy sound though, so yes, it is a lot for the full system.

Same way there are designer makes in this world, you pay for the quality at the end of the day, admitally akra does take the piss.

But the welding is great craftsmanship, the weight is so light compared to stock, and increases hefty amount of HP.

It has the perfect sound for someone looking for that sound, everyones tastes are different i guess.
