It's a car. If it looks used it's because you've used it. In 30 years they'll be calling it "patina"

My advice is to get the bumpers painted every year or two. Rear for gravel rash and the front for general abuse. Miles better than all this tape business. I've done this on every nice car I've owned-doesn't cost me a thought, I just think it goes with the territory !!

Yeah, I was thinking of just getting the rear resprayed, but other than that area the reset of the bumper is perfect. It just seems crazy to me that after only 1400 miles, that part of the bumper looks like it was hit by a shotgun.

You might be able to get a prepainted rear bumper, but that's gonna cost an arm and a leg.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about.

Do you guys think it's feasible at all to repair these without a full repaint? Or would it never be 100% that way?

I put a triangle-shaped piece of clear bra right behind the front and rear wheels and it works quite well to stop the chipping. I still have some chips, but not nearly as bad as if it wasn't there on the high impact areas.

Sticky tires throw up a LOT more rocks than normal passenger car all seasons...

That is a common area to get chips and scratches on these cars (rocker panels as well). That's why I clear bra'd around all 4 wheels and did a "sharkfin" in front of the rear wheels. Still looks like new.

I would get it repainted when it gets really bad and then clear bra it.
