I'm telling you you're sitting on a gold mine and you're still posting about it on the internet? Go patent this process of yours!

Ha! Ha!
Thanks for the encouraging words, but I have to work for a living. I've spent time poor and on the road crewing in a previous life. There ain't no money to be made in cars or racing.

think the guy was being sarcastic about you patenting your "process"

Not sure if he was encouraging.

With that said a hemoltz resonator is largely for sound elimination more than changing the pulses of intake air. If you do not want any sound elimination than you really do not need a hemoltz design and a direct path is ideal.

The actualy intake MANIFOLD tubing is what can be tuned by variable lengths to time the pulses of air but the hemoltz really has nothing to do with this process. That is why the variable intake tubing on some bmw's with the DISA valves opening/closing at certain rpms to vary the legnth of intake tubing based on rpms. That is what you modify and not the intake box for performance.

Now that's a true statement. Net loss for sure. The only reason there's money for the ten thousand or so people in the world making serious money from racing is because there are serious marketing budgets out there, and seriously rich people who like racing. Too bad really, it does improve all of our lives. Even when people are using intake manifolds that aren't Radiation Joe approved.

I think you nailed it. I believe mr radiation is confusing the intake box for the intake manifold as far as the variable geometry lengths being tuned for the engine. An airbox simply houses the filter and "tunes" the sound but not performance.

Barry,

What Continental tires are you running and in what sizes? Do you like them? I'm looking to try some new r-comps becasue I just haven't found the best balance between grip, cost, and wear.

Thanks!

Hi Dave - the contis are made by hoosier. they are not the longest wearing tire out there so I'm not sure if they'll meet all your requirements. good tire though... I'm running 275/35/18.

Thanks,
BC

Ah, thanks for the info. I had no idea Hoosier was in the business of making tires for other companies. I like the Hoosiers' grip levels, but you're right... they not only don't last long, but their sweet spot with respect to their best performance is even more short lived.

Thanks again.

A little off topic, but are you towing with the X5M? If so, how does it perform as a tow vehicle?
