DCT Shift knob... small chip...

My DCT shift knob has 2 small chips right at the silver part at the top of the knob. I found this picture online and circuled where the chips are...

Was wandering if it's possible to just replace that silver piece there...

If not, do you think it'll be covered under waranty?

My S5 had a small chip on the push start button... aparently it was common thing to peel off R and T of the letters START... they replaced it under waranty.

You would have to purchase the whole shifter. You can buy it from Tischer

however I would think this is still covered under your warranty.

Don't believe they cover wear and tear in the warranty..I had the same issue in my E92 M3 but they never covered it.

Shifter & boot is one piece/part. Do you have a ring on that hand?

It came with those chips when i bought it... I'll check with the Dealer... i doubt they'll do it, but it's worth a shot.

I had a shredded cup holder some years ago on my E46 M3. At the time, the M3 was under warranty. Service swapped out for a new unit without even asking me when I took it in for regular service.

Are there any other shift knobs available from either the dealer or a sponsor vendor?
