Comfort access mad at me?

Howdy
I washed the car the other day and the water running across the door handle made the car lock and unlock several times in a row even when I started avoiding the door with the hose. Now the car is 50/50 at letting me get in.
I suspect a computer adjusted the door handle sensitivity but can't be sure. Is there any insight? Is it possible to reset the door handle?
Car's brand new so I doubt the key battery is low. It always unlocks fine with the buttons on the key.

I think the two things are a coincidence. The lock/unlock would happen to me every time I washed the car with the keys in my pocket (probably a hundred times over the time of my ownership of the car).

I keep my fob in my garage when I'm outside washing the car. Not because I'm afraid of damaging anything but because the open/close while washing is really annoying

agreed on the "annoying" , leave the key somewhere else. I'll try that, but I guess i'll look into a new battery for the FOB as well.

Put a new battery in the thing and now it's pouring rain out so I can't test, I'll see what that does later.
On the car-wash front, I left the key in the car this time, much better.

You're way more trusting of BMW electronics than me . With the random electronic gremlins on this car, I don't take any chances . I put key inside a plastic bag with other washing supplies (I use high-pressure DIY carwashes) and no more incessant locking and unlocking .

Oh, and I've changed the battery several times on my fobs hoping to avoid frequent 'no key present', 'low battery', and having to lean on the car for CA to lock/unlock car (by touching handle) to no avail. I'm used to that by now, but not impressed at all when a $25K Hyundai is flawless . Oh well. Good day gang.

If its brand new just take it to the dealer, it should be covered under warranty. Just don't say anything about the car wash.

Don't keep the keys in your pocket while washing the car.
